Anna Ricketts reviewed: A one day spoon carving course

"What a wonderful day - Sharif explained everything so clearly, and there were lots of examples for inspiration. Carving a spoon was the perfect way to learn about selecting the wood, safe ways to use an axe, a wood carving knife, and a curved knife, as well as how to sharpen them. This was all done in simple stages, with Sharif keeping a close eye on everyone, and helping us all in turn. Highly recommended. ?"

Gillian Bathe reviewed: One day stained glass classes by Le Breton Traditional

"Matthew le Bretton's traditional and Tiffany stained glass course was all it promised. He takes care to have prior notice of individual plans and so he welcomes us with suitable equipment and materials. He is well aware of H&S issues and has protective equipment and gives good instruction, The gradual progress and demonstration means that we can all move forward confidently without overload. He is well supported by Nina, assistant, so that there is always someone to hand to help and remind us. The regular monthly Sundays give scope for larger projects and investigation and I expect to be a regular attender to these workshops so conveniently located (for me) in Bradninch. What a marvellous discovery.I have been to several stained glass workshops in my quest for skills and to find one so excellent and close to home is a gift indeed!"

Karin Bennett reviewed: Annie Sloan Method with Chalk Paint for Upcycling Furniture at La Di Da Interiors - The Basics

"A great course to go on! I really enjoyed my morning. I had no idea about Annie Sloan chalk paint and its versatility but now understand it so much better. Steph has a very easy going style as she imparts some basic techniques to wet our appetite and really that is just what you need to get going and explore the world of paint yourself. I have a feeling that what seemed basic in the class though may become not so easy when i get going but for now my confidence is high and i am ready to paint. Big thanks to Steph for giving me the inspiration."

Wendy Place reviewed: Fabulous felt picture 2 day masterclass near York

"What a lovely way to spend a weekend meeting new people, learning new skills, relaxing and also coming away from a two day course with a felt picture you can be proud of. This is exactly what happen to me last weekend when I attend a two day felt picture masterclass course run by Bridget Bernadette Karn. Bridget made you feel welcome from the minute you arrived. My course was made up of five more ladies, we all got on really well, each one of us making different themed pictures from landscapes, seascapes to flowers. Bridget was a true professional she spent time with each of her ladies giving us advice, showing us ways to make our pictures better, guiding us and passing on her skills and knowledge to help all of us learn how to wet felt and needle felt resulting in some very good pictures being produced. Bridget is a very talented lady and a excellent teacher. I would recommend one of her course to anyone wanting to learner how to make a picture through the art of wet and needle felting, you will not be disappointed."

lana Trundle reviewed: Hare sculpture - mixed media course with Nikki Szabo

"Thank you Nikki for a fantastic couple of days on your mixed media Hare making course. I really didn't think that I could create something that looked anything like your Hare, and was so pleased to go home with my own Holly the Hare. I really like the variety of stages. From forming the armature, to moulding the form and seeing the little Hare come to life was so rewarding. The course was really well organised and your relaxed manner made it a very enjoyable couple of days. In addition to a great course, the setting was beautiful, and we were very spoilt with lots of refreshments, snacks and yummy lunches. I think I need a partner for Holly so may be back :-) Lana Trundle"

"Spent a lovely day with Jane learning the art of wet felting. Jane was very welcoming and made us feel very relaxed as none of our small group had tried wet felting before. There was a a great choice of materials to use, everything was provided. Plus a lovely lunch and a bottomless cuppa! You could take an idea from Jane or run with your own to produce your masterpiece. It was a fantastic day I would highly recommend the course. I have come away with a new found passion. Thank you Jane for your knowledge and help."

Hazel Kemp reviewed: Fabulous felt picture 2 day masterclass near York

"I found the course fascinating and learnt several new techniques. We all produced very different pictures and they all looked great. I found working from a picture challenging and stimulating - Bridget has an amazing eye for colour and helped us to see colours in our photos that we had not noticed ourselves. It can be difficult to tell how much work will be involved in a certain picture so I would advise taking a few so that Bridget can help you choose. I am enjoying finishing my picture at home and look forward to coming again.Thank you Bridget for a brilliant weekend."

"An inspirational course. Bridget is an excellent teacher- in terms of knowledge, delivery and pastoral ability. Bridget is only too willing to share the techniques she has learned and developed. She gives constant one to one teaching and support . Bridget worked with each student’s strengths and ideas while assisting each one of us to experiment with new found skills. We all completed a fantastic creation. The materials Bridget provided were of the highest quality- all prepared well in advance of the course. She created a lively ,friendly environment in which we worked. Altogether an excellent course in a wonderful pastoral setting. Susan Bell reviewed: Non-residential 2-day patchwork & quilting workshops in Watford with Green Man Quilts

"I attended the Fibonacci for Quilters recently. Although I am a reasonably experienced sewer, I was a complete novice to quilting. The group was small enough that Sheena was able to give us individual help as needed and by the end of the weekend I had produced something that I will be proud to display!"

Green Man Quilts responded:

"It was fabulous to have you along for the weekend. You had such fabulous ideas and really worked so amazingly hard. Do send me a photo of it in situ. Well done."

Kevin Sollis reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"Just spent a great Saturday with Mort at the Firebird forge. I booked the day for my son Sean and i to attend and try a taste of Blacksmithing. I did not expect to actually leave with something that I had a hand in designing and hammering out around the forge. Sean produced an interesting door knocker in the form of a snake and a dragon and I went for a funky tea light holder. Mort is a very patient teacher and happy to guide in the right direction when our hammer blows went astray. Also had some very interesting conversations around history and the the art of blacksmithing. After our day I am clear it is an art form. Thoroughly recommended to anyone looking for a great experience day!!"
