Ellie reviewed: Saturday Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop at Ransom's Pavilion, Hitchin 9.30am - 12.30pm

"Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop Tuuli’s workshop was so much fun! I returned for a second session to learn more about this exciting material and have made some really special gifts. The room was filled with items to inspire us with, such as natural forms and moulds of lavender and leaves. Tuuli shares her skilled knowledge in such an interesting and open way, it is amazing to discover what can be done with silver clay in just three hours. With her help I was able to create a unique pendant out of a vintage squirrel pin and I’m so happy with it, I have worn it every day since. Thank you! Hope to be back again soon."

Gill Schooledge reviewed: The Whole Table Loom Set Up - Dobby & Rose

"A wonderful course full of useful information. Rebecca is very generous with her time allowing you to try all aspects of the course after providing a demonstration. She explains the technical details so that you can understand each step and is always willing to answer any queries. I am now looking to purchase my own loom and am excited about producing my own fabric. I would thoroughly recommend both Rebecca as a tutor and this course as a way to progress with weaving."

"Today my daughter and I had an amazing day on this workshop. Julie was really welcoming and we instantly felt at ease. The course content was great, we learned lots about how to make lots of products and went home with lots of deliciously scented goodies. Julie was a great teacher, she was very knowledgeable, patient and interesting. She was really approachable and ready to help and advise whenever needed. We were looked after really well and the lunch was lovely. Julie had gone out of her way to accommodate for a vegan and gluten free diet for people on the workshop. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, great value for money and I highly recommend it."

helene coxhead reviewed: Wire & mixed media sculpture courses with James Ort

"Wire and mixed media Excellent course with James providing superb facilitator skills as well as direct tutoring when required. I already had some experience working with wire but learned a lot of handy hints and tips which will be extremely useful in my future work. Having said that the course was equally suitable for complete novices and the work they produced was impressive. In order to make best use of the 2 days we were directed to do some prep and that proved very worthwhile for anyone thinking of this course (and I heartily recommend it) this meant being able to focus immediately on their chosen subject – in my case a carousel horse. Mini-teaching and demonstration sessions were interjected during the 2 days as we needed them so they were immediately relevant to our progress At all other times James circulated assisting and guiding where he was needed. The venue is ideal a beautiful galleried studio full of daylight as well as warm so very comfortable. . Teas and coffees on tap and on my workshop a delicious cake baked by James was also provided. Yum. Thanks James like so many others I will be back"

The Phoenix Studio responded:

"Wow, thanks for such a lovely review Helen! It means a lot and I am so chuffed that you have learnt some new skills from your time here. It's been lovely having you come on Mondays too! James x"

Very relaxed and the small group of 2 or 3 students is perfect as you never have to wait for help when you’re stuck. Definitely recommend this to anyone! A great release from an otherwise busy life!"

Ellen Mulcrone reviewed: 1-Day Jewellery Making Silver Copper Workshop for 2 people

"I didn't know what to expect for this course as I had never done a one day jewellery workshop before, but I was totally blown away! Was such a lovely day. I felt very supported by Linda and despite the varying abilities within the group, Linda managed to provide personalised attention and help to each one of us. I could tell that Linda had put a lot of time and energy in to preparing for the workshop, everything moved along fluidly and if there was anything we were unsure about she would be quick to explain in an easy-to-understand manner. There was in general a great atmosphere and the addition of tea and biscuits which is always nice. The setting was also gorgeous, in an old brick circular tower with lots of light and clean space. I was encouraged to explore a new method and as a result I learnt new skills and came away with a piece that I was really happy with. I highly recommend these workshops. Both the full day and the half day. Would be a great gift for both those who have experience with jewellery making and those who have never tried it before."

Linda Sandeman Jewellery responded:

"Thank you so much. It was such a pleasure having you there. Your ring is amazing. One thing I love about teaching is seeing the student design a piece that I haven’t seen before and then work on it together to make it a reality. Had such fun with you all. x"

Sheila Hira reviewed: Half-Day Jewellery Making Workshop for 2

"We had a fantastic half day on Linda’s workshop last month. It was a birthday present from my friend who I came on the course with. Linda really made us feel very welcome. She was extremely encouraging and gave me the chance to make a wonderful pair of earrings that I thought I would never be able to create something so beautiful specially as I was a beginner. Can’t wait to go again. Thanks Linda for a great day. Look forward to coming to another workshop. x"

Linda Sandeman Jewellery responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed it! For someone who said they had no creativity id definitely say that is not the case. Your earrings are beautiful and I love the design. The contemporary ear wires really suit your design. Look forward to seeing you again. x"
