Cathy Pink reviewed: Natural Vegan Cold Process Soap Making

"I really enjoyed the Green Fig course with Lily, who really knows a lot about soap making! I enjoyed learning how people made soap in the past as well as the chemistry behind it. I had great fun with combining colours and smells and who knew there were so many ways to decorate soap? Lily is full of ideas for different techniques and I’m loving seeing pictures of how each of the bars have turned out, so different, so tasty looking! I’d definitely like to do the advanced course and try different combinations and techniques, I’m hooked."

"I just loved this copper bowl workshop! Melissa was a very good teacher and the small class size meant plenty of one to one time if needed. It was very satisfying to leave at the end of the day with two beautiful copper bowls - I haven't stopped making them since! :-) I would definitely recommend this workshop."

Anne Crook reviewed: Holiday ceramic sculpture workshop for children 8+ (and adults)

"My son has now attended two of Beatrice's holiday workshops and he has thoroughly enjoyed the experience; he has particularly liked the freedom he's been given to choose the subjects for his sculptures and it is clear he's learnt a lot from Beatrice in a really short space of time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these workshops and in fact I very much hope to be able to attend one myself at some point in the future!"

Sculpture Workshops Oxford responded:

All together a great introduction to throwing in a warm and relaxing environment, I would not hesitate to recommend it."

Kate reviewed: Intensive beginners silver jewellery weekend

"Lucy is an excellent teacher; patient and very knowledgeable. I had a fantastic weekend learning many skills in jewellery making and as a complete novice, I am amazed at what we achieved in just a weekend. I have several beautiful pieces of jewellery to add to my collection, which are so special as I made them myself. Everyone on the course was lovely, the studio was great and the lunch and homemade cakes provided were superb. I'm so pleased I attended this course and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with an interest in silver jewellery making."

Rosamund Rodriguez reviewed: Eco print your Scottish leaves weekend in Glasgow

"I thoroughly enjoyed learning to Eco Print, I had never done it before and was fascinated to learn how it all works as well as the sheer joy of just playing! Exploring the possibilities of the different leaves and finding myself developing a greater understanding of the process meant that by day two I was confidently experimenting with a range of leaves, papers and fabrics. I was thrilled with how much work I had to take home and look forward to more happy hours practicing this new craft and using my prints in other projects."

Kristian Smith reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"I attended the Introduction to Greenwood course in Jan ‘19 and loved every second of it. Peter was a fantastic teacher... inspirational, supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, passionate... I could go on. The two days flew by far too quickly as I was so engrossed in the process of making my little table and enjoying the charm of Peter’s rural workshop. Don’t hesitate booking - you will love it."

Allie and Mary reviewed: Fine-furniture making course - floating shelf day course in Cheshire

"‘The best birthday ever’ - my mums comment at the end of our floating shelf workshop day. We had such a lovely time and learnt so much. David was so helpful and attentive, everything was explained and demo’d and he made time for all questions (no matter how off topic they got). We would totally recommend this course to anyone looking for expert guidance in a relaxed setting. Thanks again David!"

Bob Griffin reviewed: Woodturning Course in North Yorkshire with Philip Greenwood RPT

"Had a great day with Phil. Last time I used a lathe was 45 years ago and I wanted to understand what would be involved in starting up as a hobby so beside the expert tuition on turning the other advice about the equipment, safety, tool maintenance and tricks/tips was absolutely great. He is patient, knowledgeable and no question is too silly so thank you Phil for helping me decide I definitely want to take this further."

Helen Morgan reviewed: Easel Weasel Wednesday Art workshops - Derbyshire Peak District

"This is a lovely course for anyone wishing to explore their potential artistic talent or build on existing skills. I had not picked up a paintbrush since I took Art A-level 20 years ago. Denise’s talent and enthusiasm for her subject is evident, she creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for her students and has a patient and nurturing approach that helps build confidence, whether your are completely new to painting, or like me incredibly rusty. She reminded me of principles I had long forgotten, but also taught me new ways to look at colour, create depth and pay attention to detail, I’m very proud of the work I have produced under her guidance. I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in Art, not only as a place to build technique and knowledge, but also as a fun, relaxing and pleasant way to spend a day, in picturesque surroundings."

"I really enjoyed my day. Olivia reviewed: Wheel thrown mug workshop

"We purchased two pottery throwing workshops for our mums and they throughly enjoyed it. In fact mum spent at least 20 minutes praising it on the phone to me. They thought Jack was very welcoming, friendly and patient and they are so happy with the pots they made. It is a wonderful memory for them as they not only had fun and but learnt a new skill and did something outside of their comfort zone. Highly recommend this place!"

Lizzie reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Super course! Beautiful setting to spend the morning - Temple is a gorgeous wee village and Kerry's home is lovely. There were the right amount of people to create a great atmosphere, but not so many that it felt overcrowded or impersonal. You learn loads of interesting and useful information for candle making (and using/buying in terms of quality, etc) and the candles we made were just gorgeous. You also get the chance to blend your own scent for a future candle, which is a lot of fun! The tea and fruit crumble provided were the icing on the cake. Thanks Kerry, I will certainly be recommending this!"

Lauren W reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"What a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening!! I bought this course for myself and my partner for Valentine's Day as I thought it would be nice to do something creative together and it was absolutely fantastic. I feel like I learnt a lot, tried out lots of different techniques all with gentle encouragement and support from Stephen. I have always thought of myself as not practical and Stephen and this course helped me see it is much more of the case that I just haven't given myself a chance to try thing like this. I cannot recommend this course enough it was so much fun!"

Ruth Stead reviewed: Two person 'Have a Bash' at Blacksmithing course in Shropshire

"I booked this course for my boyfriend's birthday in January and it could absolutely not have gone down better! Jake is really fun to be around and so clear in explaining how to do everything, and very knowledgeable about blacksmithing in general - even coping with the zillion questions Nick threw at him! I was (stupidly) surprised at how long everything took to make and it gave us a real appreciation of the art and skill in blacksmithing. We came away with a blacksmith knife and a poker each and they all look great, I particularly love the poker, it's so pretty on the fireplace. The whole day was really good fun and Nick loved having a go with all the tools (although I was way better at the power hammer!) and really seeing what traditional blacksmithing is all about. All in all an absolutely brilliant day and earned me some serious girlfriend points. Might have to come back for another go! p.s. sorry abut slow review Jake, hope the gates are going well!"
