Helen reviewed: Indigo blue, print and stitch a weekend creative retreat in Glasgow

"I have recently completed a similar weekend course run by Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw (at a different venue). I learnt how to set up and maintain an indigo vat and dyed samples using a variety of different fabrics. We covered various Shibori folding and clamping techniques and the use of everyday materials, such as clothes pegs and jam jar lids, as a resist to produce patterns on the dyed fabric. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and felt that I learnt a lot. I was delighted that I came home with the skills to set up my own vat at home and continue experimenting with the techniques I'd learnt. Elisabeth is a knowledgeable and passionate tutor and made the whole weekend a fun and creative experience. I can't wait to get started on some more indigo dyeing!"

Albert reviewed: One-to-One Jewellery making course including wire work (beginners)

"I had the best day ever! I went to Jolene with my fiancee to make our wedding rings - if I'm honest, I was a little nervous about it before going, having not made any jewellery before and it being quite an important one! But Jolene made me feel completely at ease, guiding me through all stages, in her amazing, cute, quirky studio and the end result was Amazing!! I couldn't be more happy with the ring and with how the day went - it was so relaxed, fun, special and I'd love to go again. Can't recommend Jolene highly enough!!"

Stephen Lasslett reviewed: Creating a Viking knife an introduction to forging and knife making at Bearded Pig Forge

"What a great day ,directions are clear and easy to follow.Spike made me feel very welcome at his forge and is very easy to talk to. After a coffee followed by a saftey talk, then started with the knife making, spike is a very good teacher of his craft, and shares his knowledge and skills with you, he shows you each process and talks you through each stage and explains why it is done that way . I started the day unsure if i could achieve what i wanted ,before i knew it the day was over and i am now the proud owner of a great little knife made by myself, all thanks to Spike. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in knife making, hopefully i will be taking another course with him later in the year ."

Nicki Moss reviewed: Stained glass for all at the Cheshire School of Glass

"I recently did a 2 day stained glass workshop tutored by Steph Brown. It was a wonderful experience and I thoroughly enjoyed learning the basic techniques for stained glass projects. Steph is an excellent tutor and has amazing patience (which she certainly needed with me!) Her gentle approach gives you the confidence to learn , and I was able to produce a panel that I'm really proud of and can't wait to do more. The course is based in a lovely setting and we all got well looked after with drinks, lunch and sweets! As you go through the course, you realise what good value for money it is, and as there is only 4 of you, you get lots of individual attention. Thanks again, Steph ( and Jenny)."

Anne Jury reviewed: 'Bag in a Day' Practical Leather Course - Mini Bucket bag

"I made a gorgeous top quality grey tote bag with Georgie's superb guidance a couple of weeks ago. Her calm, reassuring manner made for a relaxing, in the totally absorbed for 6 hours kind of way, day where I also met some amazing women. I love my bag and will definitely do another day. I can't recommend it enough for anyone who's 'crafty' enough to have a go at anything. I think both experienced sewers and beginners would both enjoy this day."

Lucy Barclay reviewed: Upholstery and soft furnishings 2 day course

"I have just spent a long weekend making box cushions at Peak Upholstery and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I only wish lived nearer so I could go there regularly as I now have many projects in mind I would like to do. I am a full time wheelchair user and had no problems; the access is flat and there was plenty of room as there were only four of us. (All of whom were very kind and helpful to me). Angie is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher. She was fun to work with and plied us with delicious cakes and biscuits - I can't wait to go back."
