Rachael reviewed: Corset making: Victorian / Beginners

"I thoroughly enjoyed Lisa’s workshop, great teacher, energetic, fun, thorough and attentive, giving everybody the time they needed to make their corsets. I am super pleased with my efforts, and think I now have the corset bug, her passion was very infectious, and I would definitely attend another future workshop on a different corset style. The venue was good and lovely bunch of similar minded people on the course. Thank you Lisa - thoroughly recommended!"

Kirstan Powell reviewed: Fused Glass workshops at Bere Alston, near Tavistock, Devon

"I found the day very informative. Wendy patiently explained how to cut the glass, enabling us to have hands on experience of the whole process rather than be given cut shapes and then we had a great day cutting, shaping and grinding the glass before assembling our creations. I can't wait to see my birds when they come out of the kiln - thank you so much."

Caroline Slade reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"What a fantastic full day 'Spoon Carving for Beginners' class! Stephen is such a warm and humorous person to be around, fantastically creative in - and knowledgable about - all forms of sculpture, so great to learn from. He guided us through the tools and techniques expertly, with great judgement about when to leave us to it to work by ourselves, and when to intervene, so making the day feel less of a group lesson and more about a process of discovery for each of us. Throughly recommend doing the whole day, as those who had only booked to do the half day had a good intro, but it was clearly not long enough to complete a spoon as a first timer. Thanks a million Stephen, we will be back for more!"

Dan Clark reviewed: Wood turning courses

"The woodturning day course with George was excellent. He was very knowledgeable in every aspect and gave very helpful and safety conscious tips all throughout the day. By the end of the day I had turned a bowl made from sycamore and was delighted with the finish too. Would look to book another course very soon. Also, George's wife was on hand making tea and filling me up with biscuits and lunch too!!! Thank you very much George and see you again."

Annie Law reviewed: Mosaic wall hangings using vintage and retro china

"I enjoyed an excellent day with Wendy, who inspired me to make a mosaic I was pleased with. Wendy had lots of beautiful crockery for us to ‘play’ with and provided us with a base board of our chosen shape. Wendy gave us lots of time and attention, offering great ideas to help us, whilst leaving the final creative choices to us. The day was relaxed and friendly and the venue comfortable. A great day Wendy. Thank you!"

Wendy's Mosaic Designs responded:

"Thank you so much, Annie, for writing this kind review. I hope I have inspired you to make more mosaics at home. Wendy"

Lorraine Baillie reviewed: Festive soap and cream making with The Scottish Soapworks

"I highly recommend this course. A wonderful, informative day in a beautiful location. I thoroughly enjoyed learning two processes for making soap, both Jenny and Lynn were very helpful. We all went home with some lovely soap, decorated and packaged by ourselves and also received all the information required to continue at home. I will also add that lunch was delicious and as I require gluten free, that's not something I can say very often."

The Arienas Collective responded:

"Hello Lorraine. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and for the lovely, detailed feedback. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your soap-making workshop, and the lunch! We try to cater for all dietary needs. We hope to welcome you back to The Arienas Collective one day. With best wishes, Lynn :-)"

Lauren reviewed: Beginners Candle Making Course with Afternoon Tea

"If you are serious about candle making look no further, what an experience. I arrived with no knowledge or experience on candle making and came out with a wealth of information and very confident I can make my own candles and start my little candle business. I would recommend this course 100%. The afternoon tea we enjoyed at the end was better than most afternoon teas I have tried in London!"

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thanks Lauren, very pleased you enjoyed my scones so much :)"

Lain Burgos-Lovece reviewed: Wood carving intermediate course (level 2)

"A really useful course. I find the number of attendees just right, as it allows John to answer individual questions and to help directly when problems arose in my own carving. The course was challenging and the format very flexible, allowing John to cover extra techniques as required during the two days. Also plenty of advice on tools and other sources of information and inspiration. The setting in Ness Gardens is very relaxing and inspiring."

John White Woodcarving responded:

"Hi Lain, thank you for your helpful comments, pleased you enjoyed the course. kind regards John & Carol"

Brenda reviewed: Private jewellery tuition with Joanne Tinley Jewellery

"Private tuition with Jo has been one of the best skills investments I have made, in terms of both time and money. Jo has the ability to meet her students at the level they are at, which greatly helped me build foundational knowledge as well as as more advanced skills. As for workshops - Jo's sawing masterclass was an eye-opener for me. Would definitely recommend either workshops or private tuition with Jo - either option is a day well spent!"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for such a lovely review Brenda! It is always great to have you in the studio, and a privilege to have helped you develop your jewellery making skills!"
