Description
Spinner rings and bangles are delightful pieces of jewellery to make and to wear - come along and make your own! The edges of the base are flared to capture the narrower satellite rings or bangle that spin freely. The silver can be textured with a variety of hammers and decorative punches, the edges of the main ring or bangle filed into waves or left straight and the silver can be given an antiqued finish or left bright and polished - so many variations that everyone in the class makes their own unique piece of jewellery. The Spinner Ring and Bangles workshop teaches you all the traditional silversmithing techniques you need to create your own stunning and perfectly fitting sterling silver ring or bangle. This workshop is suitable for beginners to jewellery making as it teaches many of the basic skills needed for more advanced skills, however those with previous experience will also find their skills tested and improved by the end of the session. We will also discuss tools, equipment, materials and health and safety considerations. Only 8 places are available to ensure that everyone gets the help and attention they need. 14 to 16 year olds are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a paying adult. Joanne Tinley is a jewellery designer and qualified teacher offering workshops in Hampshire. Please see the other course listings for further workshops available, or get in touch for more details.
