Rachel Bush reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"What a joy to spend 2 days in a wonderful environment, with a bunch of lovely people making a useful and (in my opinion) gorgeous stool which is now sitting proudly in my kitchen. Peter is a generous teacher, passing on his skills in a way that a complete novice can understand and put into action. Green woodworking is the best way I have found to practice mindfulness and the perfect antidote to a stressful life. What’s not to love about this course."

Denise Boddy reviewed: Hessian Floristry workshop

"I attended this course with my daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Annabelle's organisation was brilliant. Each person had their own preprepared pack of stencils and materials ready to go. Annabelle not only showed us how to make several flowers in slow and easy steps, but also allowed us time to be creative on our own with our newly acquired skills! I would definitely recommend her course and attend again."

Hessian Creations responded:

"Hi Denise Thank you so much for your comments, it’s very encouraging that everyone has enjoyed their day being creative. My reason for including written instructions and stencils ready to go is because I want everyone to be able to get as much out of the workshop as possible. I am always amazed of the amount of flowers everyone produces in the day and they are all so different with the different materials I provide."

Thanks for a great day Jo ! X"

"Thank you Carol! So glad 'Hepworth' managed the long journey home and now has views of canal boats going past your window ;-) Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Jo x"

Maureen McCoy reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I recently attended Gerald's 2 day beginners woodcarving course because I wanted to make a practice Ukulele but I didn't know where to start. I was particularly worried about shaping the neck & heel. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and came home with a neck/heel that, with a little sanding, is ready for use. I learned much more than I expected and have gained the self confidence I need to finish my project. I would recommend Gerald's courses to anyone."

Jacky White reviewed: Clay portrait weekends with Karin Ort

"I enjoyed the weekend immensely there was such a pleasant atmosphere and i am very pleased with the outcome. I was struggling to make a face that didn’t look like voldermort’s sister. I have now created a near likeness to the model and will be able to make a presentable face on any new sculptures that i make. Course worth every penny!"

Becky Stubbs reviewed: Introductory soap making workshop

"I came on Sunday 27th with my Mum, sister and 14 year old neice. Nic and Ben are warm and welcoming hosts and the setting/views were amazing!! This course is excellent for the seasoned crafter or (more like our group) a family group that wanted to spend time together, doing something fun with likeminded people! Hosts explain everything and are always on hand to advise. Fab course!!"

Boo Cottage Botanicals responded:

"Hi Becky, Thanks so much for the lovely review - it was so great to host you all and we're glad you enjoyed it! Nic"

Barbara Berriman reviewed: Clay portrait weekends with Karin Ort

"Please pass on rather belated thanks from my daughter and myself to Karin for a hugely enjoyable clay portrait weekend. As the only complete novices, having never picked up a lump of clay - other than in the garden - we were feeling rather out of our depth on arrival but we quickly felt completely at ease, had plenty of help and advice, a lovely model and the whole two days flew by at incredible speed - far too fast, in fact. We look forward to collecting our 'masterpieces'!"

James Ort reviewed: Clay portrait weekends with Karin Ort

"I went on my first art course at The Phoenix studio a few weeks ago. I loved it. The tutor was gently encouraging with her advise, and I learnt a lot about various techniques. The studio was beautiful - light and spacious, and fully equipped with everything anyone should need! It was a lovely learning environment. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It was also a nice touch to have a shared table for lunch, and even some homemade cake. Im sure i’ll be returning at some point. Thank you to all involved!"

Natalie reviewed: 'Accelerate' 1 day course- Complete candlemaking business development and creation

"This is such an amazing course. This course includes so much more than expected. Zaga really helps you understand and develop your brand which is so important when starting a business. The course covers every element of starting a business to legalities to producing products and of course understanding fragrance and how they work. Zaga is very generous with her knowledge and clearly has a passion for fragrance. She is a wonderful lady and genuinely wants to help you succeed in creating a business. I have learnt so much from her and can not wait to get started and share my journey with her. Thank you so much for all your help."

Bridget Stait reviewed: Introductory soap making workshop

"I had an absolutely wonderful time and the morning passed really quickly. The information was really useful and I felt we were taught rather than just instructed on what to do, which was useful. We were given an understanding into the processes and the stages in the creation of our beautiful soaps. I was really pleased with the soaps that I made and have thoroughly enjoyed using them and shared a couple with friends. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in making their own soap, and I will be looking at booking a different workshop in 2020. Thank you."

Boo Cottage Botanicals responded:

"Hi Bridget, Thanks so much for the lovely review! Very pleased to hear you are enjoying using your soaps and we'll look forward to seeing you again next year. Nic"

Jemima reviewed: Leather Possibles Pouch Workshop

"Because of how much i loved the belt making course, i was back the next weekend to learn how to make a cute pouch! Wendy and Clive taught this so perfectly that if you were a complete beginner you could still keep up whilst having fun, as well as if like me you had some knowledge they would push your skill a bit further and factor in your weakness' to improve them efficiency. I thoroughly enjoyed coming back again, and can assure each visit gets even better ! On this course we got to fully personalise our pouch and im truly proud of mine. Thank you so much again ! Im so happy i joined your leather workshops !"

Evancliffe Leathercraft responded:

"Thank you so much for the review. It is great to get feedback and know that you have enjoyed the workshops so much!"

Margaret Fasanya reviewed: Beginners Soap Making Course

"This is the most enjoyable craft course I have ever been. Paula was so attentive, knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome in her beautiful home. I was the most talkative of the bunch as I was on the course purposely to extend my range of 100% Natural Skin care products. Surprisingly she was very patient with me as I was asking her loads of question. We did overrun on the course, but Paula didn't mind and we had a wonderful afternoon together, swapping with each other our beautiful soap creation. I will highly recommend this course both for practicality, knowledge and warm atmosphere and spending afternoon with our beautiful, knowledgeable host. Well done Paula (Although I was calling you Pauline throughout the day, but you didn't mind)."

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Hi Margaret, thank you so much for your kind words. I wish you all the best for your business, you have great enthusiasm, I loved your products. Paula"

Jemima Puckett reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork – Belt making workshop

"I cannot find worthy words of describing this course! The teachings are perfect for first time crafters and / or social hobbyists. Theres plenty of information you can take home to continue your own separate crafts. All of the tools are explained at a pace that is comfortable for you. The hosts / teachers Wendy and Clive are like family to me! They are very welcoming, funny and friendly and youll generally feel like your friends are teaching you. Also I'd like to point out that both Wendy and Clive are very talented with leather and their crafts will inspire you to try to make your own at home !"

Evancliffe Leathercraft responded:

"Thank you so much for the review. It is great to know that you have enjoyed the workshop so much! Good look with your leatherwork and it would be great to see some of your work in the future."

"My husband and I had a fabulous time with Paula on her soap making course. Nothing was too much trouble! She coped affably and patiently with all our enthusiastic questions and has definitely sparked an interest in a new skill for us. She gave us the confidence and extensive information for us to carry on soap making at home. I would thoroughly recommend this course and look forward to also attending her candle making course.
