Donna O’Reilly reviewed: The art of paper marbling & suminagashi

"Fantastic course and Pippa is such a lovely person and a great teacher. I was so looking forward to learning how to marble and how to address problems that can occur when marbling. I have to say that the day not only met but also exceeded my expectations. We were shown how to Marble, but also how to do Suminagashi. Pippa had obviously planned ahead well and was organised with some lovely surprises on the day that just added a personal touch. Pippa is full of energy, very approachable and answered any questions we posed. The day flew by with us being very hands on, producing various pieces of lovely art work. The course catered for all levels and types of people and I would highly recommend it. It has definitely given me the bug to go home and try and develop my skills further and also look at other courses Pippa runs."

Laurence Vinnels reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"I had a voucher bought for last years birthday and after looking through all of the available knife making courses I settled on this one. I am really glad that I did. The combination of brilliant facilities and the great teaching from Arian made the whole experience both really fun, but also a lot easier than I expected; even for a complete novice with most of the techniques used. I thoroughly enjoyed my time making the knife and the finished knife far beats the expectations of what I thought I would be able to create, all thanks to Arians expert guidance. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to try their hand at knife making."

Jane Ward reviewed: The art of paper marbling & suminagashi

"The marbling day with Pippa was inspiring, informative and fun. Pippa took us through the basics of sumagashi then encouraged us to dive right in, then more demonstration and lots of marbling techniques to try. The mix of demonstration, explanation and hands on practice was perfect. Pippa brought a generous selection of materials and tools, with lovely papers and a rainbow of colours to choose from. And there was cake."

"What a fun day! My Sister and I wanted to spend the day being creative with our 81 yr old Mum who hasn’t made any artwork in over 30 years. Jo gives great instruction, positivity and keeps things moving to create your sculpture. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and have been inspired to try the process at home."

Kathy Gatiss reviewed: Fine Silver Keepsake Business Course

"I attended this course on Saturday, travelling from Cheltenham down to Poole ,which took just over two hours......and it was so very worth the effort and time taken. Amanda made me feel very welcome and immediately at ease. She explained every step of each process and took the time to establish it was understood and gave excellent support throughout the day. I came away with beautiful pieces of keepsake jewellery, written guidelines to enable me to repeat the process once at home, and above all the knowledge and confidence to do so. Amanda has been supportive all the way through the process, from the initial booking and directions, through to advice on tools and supplies as well as handy hints and tips. Well worth every penny. Can highly recommend this course."

Amanda Whiteley reviewed: Art course for improvers

"I am in my third year learning to paint with Rachel’s course and I am delighted that this year Clare has moved the teaching on from the level of previous years. I am now being challenged every week and, whilst I might not have a finished piece at the end of the class, I have always learnt something new, which to me is the point of attending classes in the first place. I can not recommend Rachel and Clare’s highly enough."

The Art Class - Yorkshire responded:

"Thank you Amanda. What a lovely review. I'm so glad you feel like you are being challenged, learning a great deal and are so delighted with the course."

Deborah Shaw reviewed: Pottery Wheel Throwing Workshop

"Having never been even in the vicinity of a potters wheel in my life I was amazed to successfully produce multiple pots with Susanna's guidance and eventually completely on my own. What a fabulous morning with tangible results, beautifully glazed, in use, at my table. I am looking forward to attempting another "throwing morning" to improve my skills but it was brilliantly led; Susanna was calm, open and beyond helpful. Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful past-time."

The Clay Studio responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed it Deborah! Thank you."

Pauline Birtwell reviewed: The art of paper marbling & suminagashi

"I didn't quite know what to expect from the course as I had not done anything quite like this before and I must say it is one of the most enjoyable courses I have ever attended! Pippa was lovely. She was patient and helpful. She is a creative dynamo- and her enthusiasm is contagious. This course is suitable for the 'nervous and afraid' as well as for people with perhaps more artistic backgrounds- no artistic judgements were made, and all the course participants were politely curious about each others work. For people who learn best by demonstration and are happy to have a go themselves, this course is perfect. I will definitely be trying to recreate the wonderful marbled papers we produced on the course at home."

Jane reviewed: Folded Homewares

"I had a fantastic afternoon attending one of Kate's paper folding workshops and highly it recommend to everyone! We spent 2.5 hours folding paper into three wonderful items - a vase, bauble and a star. Each stage of the tuition was clear and as well as group information, Kate came round to us individually to check we were progressing well and had grasped the concepts. As well as the tuition, we were given a custom bag of tools (to take home too) that are needed for the workshop, and illustrated handouts. You don't need any previous skills to do this course, but you definitely go home with them totally inspired to do more! Kate is a warm and friendly tutor who patiently answers all questions - and I can't wait to sign up for other workshops that she runs."

Kate Colin Design responded:

"Thank you Jane and good luck with your festive bauble making!"

Chris Battye reviewed: Leather carving course

"As an experienced leather worker I wanted to expand my repertoire and Slim did exactly that. He was extremely knowledgeable in his craft and aimed the training at just the right level. A challenging day as I picked his most difficult design to carve but well worth the effort. Thoroughly recommended to all levels of experience. Comes with the added bonus of lovely accommodation on site - you have to be quick to book up though as it is extremely busy all year round! Not to be missed"

Ross Leather and Wood responded:

"Hi Chris thanks so much for lovely comments, you were an absolute pleasure to work with. It would be great to keep in contact to swap notes. Thanks again. All the best Slim and Nicky."

Lesley Bluckert reviewed: Art course for improvers

"I really look forward to coming to the class. This is my 3rd year and I feel I have learnt so much over that time. My confidence has increased and I enjoy being in a group with folks I have got to know and seeing how differently we each interpret the subject. There is a great atmosphere, people are very supportive and encouraging. Claire is an experienced and personable teacher. She structures the sessions carefully and knows a lot about the subject, often linking the sessions to the work of different artists. I like learning and applying a technique, e.g. building up the colours in acrylic for the landscape, using the masking fluid with watercolour. For me the sessions are an opportunity to experiment and to take away ideas for something I can use later. Rachel is there to ensure that everything runs smoothly and is a warm and encouraging presence."

The Art Class - Yorkshire responded:

"What a fantastic review Lesley! Thank you for all your kind words. I'm so glad you enjoy the course and feel like you are learning and improving in a supportive and friendly environment."

Elaine Beddow reviewed: Needle felted Highland Cow workshop, South Yorkshire

"Excellent course - was actually a felted alpaca course at Home Farm Crafts with Mandy that I did. Although I did buy the Highland Cow felting kit. I found the course informative, fun and appropriate for all levels of felters from novice to experienced. We were given everything we needed along with many helpful tips, assistance and it was a fun atmosphere with great course participants. Mandy is an excellent instructor. Due to this came home and felted 2 more alpaca whilst the instructions were in my head! Also bought and completed the Highland Cow kit - again everything I needed provided along with easy to follow instructions to ensure a great finished piece. Would highly recommend both the classes and the kits. The venue was also excellent - great surroundings and well provided for. A thoroughly enjoyable day."

Frankie and Sidney responded:

"Thank you for your fantastic review, I’m so pleased you had a great time..."
