Willow hurdles and plant supports

Description

This is a one day course to learn how to weave willow hurdles and plant supports. In the morning we will create our tall plant supports for our climbing plants.starting with the framework, we will then progress onto the weaving starting with a mouthwale for the bottom rows of weaving, then add the lobster pot weave for strength and top it off with a willow knot at the top and finish up with a trim. After lunch we will set the jigs up to start the hurdlemaking and weave low hurdles for the garden.

What's included in the price?

I will include materials and use of all my tools , knowledge and experience. There will be plenty of tea, coffee and homemade cake but please bring something for your lunch.

I started wyldwoodwillow back in 2001 after weaving for a year or so... It helped me through a particularly difficult chapter in my life and I discovered that I had a burning desire to share the healing nature of weaving. I started teaching workshops fairly early on and weaving pretty much anything I could, currently I weave baskets, coffins, living willow,sculptures and create furniture and decorative fencing for the home and garden. My business is successful and I am a full time weaver.
