Description

Join us for an in-depth spoon carving course. Learn the art of spoon carving from expert instructors while spending time at our woodland training center, set in the heart of a 1500 acre private woodland. Everything you need to begin crafting your spoons will be taught by your instructors. You will be instructed on the safe and efficient use of carving tools, the initial shaping and roughing of spoon blanks with an axe, advanced carving techniques with knives, and the selection and utilisation of different crook knives for carving the bowl of the spoon. During our course, you will learn about wood selection and how wood behaves when carved. After carving your spoons, we will also discuss finishing and treating them for immediate use, ensuring you leave the course with a completed and functional product. During the carving process, you will receive guidance and instructions to overcome any challenges that may arise. Our goal is to ensure that you make the most of your time with us and acquire new skills, which is why we maintain a low student-to-instructor ratio on all our courses. We supply all the necessary tools and materials, offering top-quality tools to ensure you can focus entirely on your carving without any concerns about tool performance. What are you waiting for? We invite you to participate in the most thorough spoon carving workshop available. You will acquire knowledge and skills while enjoying a relaxing atmosphere around the campfire with tea and biscuits, as you master the art of carving your own unique spoons.
