A five night residential art and wellbeing retreat in the most vibrant and beautiful of locations, St Ives in Cornwall. St Ives has attracted artists and creatives for decades, with its incredible quality of light, ever changing seascape and inspirational countryside. A time to rest and reset your heart, body and mind at the ending point of the year to begin afresh. This retreat is jointly run by myself, Kim, artist and owner of Make Space in Hertfordshire, a studio gallery where I teach art workshops, and Claire of Heart Led Sounds, a trained sound therapist. Arrival: Monday 30th December 2024 Departure: Saturday 4th January 2025 Arrival and departure times are flexible - please contact me via the 'message the tutor' button if you have any questions. Staying in a charming family home just minutes walk from the beach and town, the schedule includes a wonderful combination of art practice and wellbeing activities, from on location observational drawing and painting sessions to a fire ceremony and gong baths. Also included is a Holding Light clay art and meditation workshop, private yoga classes for the group with a local practitioner; gong baths, spa and sauna, a fire ceremony, New Years Eve party and fireworks over the harbour. There is a free day in the middle of the holiday for you to take the chance to relax, explore and discover the joys of Cornwall. If the art is what draws you, the Barbara Hepworth Gardens, and Bernard Leach Pottery are wonderful places for inspiration; if you'd like to explore Cornwall the train and bus stations are minutes from the house, and I'm happy to share details on the best coastal walks. Kimprints is a one stop shop for lino and letterpress prints created by me Kim, in leafy Hertfordshire. I've been teaching printmaking classes since 2016, and am passionate about keeping traditional skills alive, and giving people the freedom to find playful creativity. I completed an MA in Illustration & Book Arts in 2020 at Cambridge School of Art, and have come away even more passionate about making things with our hands can positively influence our wellbeing and sense of connection.

No, the classes are suitable for beginners- we will get in touch closer to the time to inform our teacher of any requirements.
Breakfast at the house is included for each day, as is tea coffee and snacks while at the house. We will be cooking with local produce. You may use the kitchen to cook lunch and supper, or St Ives has many wonderful cafes and restaurants.
The schedule is fixed with arranged activities and outings each day, but you can take part in as much or as little as you feel
