Patchwork Fabric Sculpted Hare 3D - by Inky Escapades

X

Description

This is a face to face workshop for a patchworks fabric sculpted hare approximately 13" tall. This workshop is best taken over two sessions it is advisable to wait a day at least to finish the colouring to allow everything to dry thoroughly. To create your hare, I will lead you through the process step by step, I will be making one with you, to create the armature, add the fabric and finally when the Hare is dry, the colouring process which is always the Wow! factor in Powertex. Full Day 9:00am until 3/4pm for the “wet” work, plus 2/3 hour colouring session once dry. The minimum time frame is overnight. Next day or later in the week, I am happy to run the colouring session in the evening. Please note if you are not local it may be possible to fit in the colouring session on the same day if you are willing to start at 9am, and have about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour break whilst the hare dries enough for the colouring to take place. If you are desperate to complete it on the same day we will not finish until 6/6.30pm, because the “wet work ” cannot be completed until approx 2/3pm. Then we need to leave it in the dryer for an hour, meaning starting back at 4pm, and then the colouring takes approximately 2.5hrs. Two to three persons minimum. Let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Powertex. It is a water-based, non-toxic and environmentally friendly universal medium it is a liquid, essentially a paint and glue combined and a fabric hardener, used to create 2D or 3D sculptures. In the case of fabric-sculpted creatures they can go in the garden once dried for three weeks and they would benefit from a coat of varnish.
