Description

Learn to use a darning loom ~ Have you got a favourite pair of socks, or a jumper that someone special made for you, but that now has a hole that needs repairing? In this lesson you can learn the dying art of darning using a darning loom. These darning looms were used extensively in the World War Two era, where make do and mend was very much the trend. In this modern era, we are encouraged not to buy new, but to buy second hand clothes. Maybe the elbows of a nice cashmere you've thrifted are a bit thread bare? This method of darning is best done using colourful yarn so the repair is purposefully visible.

What's included in the price?

- The darning loom and yarn used to do the repair is included. - Refreshments throughout the lesson will also be provided. - You will need to provide the garment that needs repairing.
