Make a Felted Bag, Wet Felting Technique
Description
Learn how to create a seamless felt bag in this one day course with Penny Dixon. You will be shown how to handle lengths of wool and the techniques required to lay the fibres. You will also be guided with a variety of techniques to agitate the soap fibres so that they join into a strong felted bag. Some previous knowledge of felt making is useful but not essential as you will be guided through the process step by step and full instruction and guidance is given. Whether a beginner or a returner, you will be taken through the process step by step. Styles of bag may depend on any previous experience and you will be guided as to difficulty levels according to this. Please bring a large towel to work on and a waterproof carrier bag to take damp work home with you. The course involves some shoulder and arm work required for rolling the felt later in the session but we always go at your pace and ability. You will also have your hands in warm, soapy water for parts of the process.
