Needle felting gingerbread houses. Taking place at The Art Yard gallery in Cradley Heath, this is an adult needle felting workshop with tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies. This workshop is aimed at adults (18+) that have had a go at needle felting before and have a good grasp of the basics.... if you have reached the stage where you are looking to have a go at a bigger and more detailed project then this is the workshop for you! Types of wool, needles and processes are explained and then you will use different techniques to create a gingerbread inspired house. The finished house is around 7 inches tall and is hollow, so it is able to have a battery powered tea light in if you would like. You will be very much encouraged to make the house your own. After the initial sculpt, there will be various materials available to make garlands and add decorative touches. You can make a gingerbread man, add holly and woolly icing etc. All materials are provided. Tea and coffee will be available, but lunch is not included. Please bring a packed lunch with you. Natalie is a fine artist that has been using needle felting as a part of her practice since 2015. Natalie uses felting in both 2D and 3D works and has had work shown nationally including the RBSA, Society of Equestrian Artists, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery Walsall. In 2017 she had work selected for the National Trust owned Beningbrough Hall's "Oh Wise Owl" sculpture trail. In 2018 she was selected for the "Character Portrait Project". She currently has work on show at The Art Yard and is part of the George Stubbs inspired exhibition at Normanby Hall and Country Park. Natalie is also the creator of the fun and quirky Roly Poly Ponies.
