Description
This is a one to one full day course to make a needle felted animal sculpture (dog, fox, cat etc with highly experienced fibre artist/maker Josephine Gornall. As well as my full attention throughout the day, I also offer virtual support via email and phone after the workshop for advice and continuation of your felted animal project. I love to see how your work and ideas progress. The content can be flexible, depending on what you would like to learn. You may be a beginner or already had a go at needle felting and want to learn more. Discover how to make a gorgeous little needle felted dog, fox, cat using just a felting needle to felt natural wool fibres together to make a characterful sculpture. I teach the 'no armature' method - using just wool fibre without wire framework inside. ~ How to create the body, legs and head, including shaping and sculpting the animals form. ~ Blending colours and using other types of fibres to make the specific textures and colours of your chosen animal for the outer fur/hair to create it’s unique character. ~ Learning about the other fibres that can be used to create certain looks. Complete your wool sculpture by making ears, nose and adding glass eyes (or felted ones) to bring it to life. You may wish to learn how to make longer hair and attach it to your felted animal, to make a sitting or laying down pose, or whatever you would like to learn as I have much experience and skills in making needle felted four legged animals. Please get in touch via the 'message the tutor' button to discuss your ideas. Bring along a few photos of your chosen pet/animal for reference (ideally printed or on a larger device than a phone if possible as easier to see). Other day course options include travelling to another area and venue/home to teach a one to one or for a private family or friends group. Please get in touch to chat about your ideas and options.
