Description

Explore textural possibilities and have fun experimenting with making your very own pieces of recycled handmade paper. You will learn how to use a Deckle and Mould and to transform old paper into new, using the pouring method. Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add into your paper to create exciting textural surfaces. These can be framed, made into wall hangings or used in collage and card making, gift tags, bookmarks, etc. All materials will be provided. You may also want to bring some of your own dried leaves or flower petals to add to the selection of inclusions, as well as additional thin scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations. There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including images by other paper-making artists. This course is part of our up-skill and up-cycle series and generously funded by The Ashley Family Foundation. For a multitude of reasons the world is not always a fair and balanced place. With that in mind, we recognise the economic disparity present and want to help remove financial barriers to learning. We can offer free places for those who are facing financial hardship. Our definition of financial hardship is those who are finding it hard to meet essential everyday costs such as food and shelter, those who may rely on benefits or who have been long term unemployed.
