"Great course and good value, I came away with many tips and new skills, I now need to go out and purchase some new tools. Course was well run at the right pace and Andrew is very patient. "Excellent and really enjoyable course. Andrew took us right back to basics which is what I was looking for. He took the time to show us how to do things, with tips and tricks to be more effective, and watched us doing it, with good feedback to improve. The point of the course wasn't to make something, but to learn how to make things with hand tools. Lovely venue too. Would highly recommend to beginners and those wanting to get back to basics. "

"Brilliant course for an absolute novice. Careful explanation of the basics and of more refined techniques to achieve a completed piece of furniture in the time. Never having done woodworking before I learned how to make a stool using wood and a little glue only and using only a few hand tools. I am delighted"

"This was an excellent experience, Andrew is a considerate and helpful teacher with a gentle and dedicated passion for his craft. The workshop site is rural and remote in the heart of a rewilded quarry with loads of wildlife around and about. I'm so pleased with my cracket stool which looks amazing even as a first time 'furniture maker'. The other two students on the course also said to have had a fab time. Can very confidently recommend this course to anyone (although there may be some accessibility issues for anyone with very limited mobility - steps and uneven ground)"

"It’s a two days course and I find it extremely useful as we were shown how to use simple tools in the right manner. These basic principles are the same whether you do a chair or a shelf or a box. Techniques are very useful but you need a professional to show them to you. What I learnt during two days will remain with me and I would be using the knowledge that Andrew kindly shared for my own projects."
