"just finished the 10 week beginners course and learned a lot not only about sawing, planing and chiselling safely but completed a hand made display stand. Perhaps as importantly I also now know how to maintain and restore some of my old woodworking tools. Ciaran is an excellent teacher and an easy going instructor. I enjoyed the course so much i am now enrolling on two more!!"

"I had a fantastic day at the forge and would recomend it to anyone . Adrian, Debbie and Andy, Adrian's able assistant, made everyone feel welcome from the word go. Whether your a beginner or have some experiance the level of instruction is pitched just right, with you soon hammering the hot metal into shape. The day simply flew by with lots of tea or coffee and at lunch time Debbie provided an outstanding meal to keep us going for the remainder of the day. The day is so relaxing, you just don't realise that you are working so hard to form that amazing finished article you eventualy leave for home with. The whole experience has left me hungry to learn more and I know I will be back at the forge in the not to distant future. If like me you have looked at many different websites about blacksmithing wondering who to choose from, take my advice and book your course with Adrian. you wont regret it."

The instructor was friendly and approachable and led the course so that even a complete beginner like myself could follow the instructions and keep up with the more experienced participants. I didn't imagine I could have made anything like the willow deer that Phil had on display, but I finished the day with a lovely deer structure that I was immensely proud of. "John is incredibly knowledgeable, but also made it easy to understand - plus he came across a decent guy. Cakes, biscuits and sense that this was a family venture without super-tight time keeping made this very enjoyable and refreshingly uncorporate. I picked up lots of tips and found it easy to ask questions. I also discovered that what I want is a good bandsaw rather than a good table saw and that in itself will have saved me the course fee!"

"I was given a one day course as a birthday present and greatly enjoyed it! I made the rams head poker, which allowed me to learn all sorts of techniques. Alex was a great teacher, and even as a complete novice beforehand I felt like I knew what I was doing! Came away with a great piece, an amazing experience (and quite a few aches!). Would recommend to anyone interested in giving it a go."
