Kim reviewed: Shoemaking Workshop

"I had a superb day, enjoying every moment of it. I got the chance to do stuff that just wouldn't be possible anywhere else. The staff have a knack for knowing when you need help and when to leave you to get on with it. So, I really felt like I had made the shoes myself. The resulting pair of shoes were worn at work the following week. They were admired by everyone. Even those people who had not understood why anyone would attempt to make their own shoes had to admit to being rather impressed. The most difficult part of the day was making choices about style, colour, sole, and laces! In addition, it's a lovely village with a nice little campsite 10 minutes walk from the workshop."

Valerie Turner reviewed: Learn To Make Jewellery - Glos/Wilts/Oxon Borders

"What a great workshop and a beautiful location. The tutors were really friendly and explained the processes very clearly, giving us plenty of help to make a range of jewellery. There is a huge choice of beads and items to make your pieces plus plenty of examples to give you ideas of what to make. I'll definitely be back to try and another workshop - there's so much choice!"

Mike Booth reviewed: Carve a Rocking Horse Head Course

"Its hard to find new words to describe this course after looking at all the past reviews. Lets just say it was everything and more that I'd hoped but with great Yorkshire Hospitality thrown in. What a team they have down there. With very little carving experience I came away with a head -- and the rest of the kit to build the whole horse at home. Went on the course at the end of June and I have a completed horse sitting in my conservatory today 2 months later. Support from the Team has been great throughout. Believe me they wont leave you out there on your own if you need assistance. One complaint -- they don't tell you that this is very very addictive. One problem -- which horse to do next. If you are dithering about going on this course, don't, just book it"

Mary Mirchandani reviewed: Introduction to Spoon Carving

"My daughter-in-law and I attended the one day spoon carving course on 14 May, 2016. Both of us enjoyed the course enormously - it was such a happy day and we learnt so much. Sophia has finished her spoon (and has started on another) but I am still working on mine! Our thanks to Chris for introducing us to such an enjoyable pastime."

Euth reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"Excellent day's weaving with Dunja. Taken through the process step by step in an unhurried way. Very easy to understand the why and the how at beginner's level. Had been a little worried about warping up, but it was explained so well that it was not difficult at all. Thoroughly enjoyable day."

Andy Wilks reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"This was a birthday present for my wife as she had always wanted to try glassblowing, we had a fantastic day, we never imagined we would produce what we did, the pieces of glass are now proudly displayed in our house. Of course we would never have been able to create what we did without Ricky, he guides and imparts his knowledge with an easy and relaxing style. We both enjoyed the day enormously and would thoroughly recommend using Ricky at Creative Vibe, many thanks for a great day."

"Had a lovely day with Sally Anne. As everyone has said she is very patient and a good teacher. Had never done willow weaving before but with Sally Anne's guidance I found the course therapeutic and was very pleased with my finished hare which has pride of place at home! Would recommend to anyone wishing to try something a little bit different."

Richard Plummer reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"The course was a 70th birthday present. The best ever, it was fun, creative and Ricky has an easy relaxed way of imparting his skills. There were only two on the course and we were encouraged to try evermore challenging tasks. 4 pieces each were produced and I have never been prouder of what was achieved. I recommend this to anyone and everyone"

Becki reviewed: Basic to advanced knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"Ann has started a crochet obsession for me! I was a complete beginner (and fairly useless to be honest) but Ann was extremely patient and a great teacher. There is no way I could have picked up the basics from a video tutorial, I needed personal guidance. I really enjoyed the class and the vintage tea room in the Grand Arcade is the perfect setting. Ann kindly gave some patterns and instructions to take away after the class. I will be practising and booking another class with Ann in the future to improve my skills. Highly recommended!"

Shaun Mullins reviewed: Mosaic, One Day Workshop

"I had a great day! I learned a lot and came away with a lovely mosaic. Jane was a very good teacher and very informative, she even took the trouble to search for material suppliers in my local area to help me get started. She provides lunch and she is a great cook. 10 out of 10, thank you Jane!"

Angela Evans reviewed: Handspinning workshop

"Had a great day on this course, Diane is a very relaxed teacher and explains the process very simply. Within minutes of arrival we were all fixed up with spinning wheels of various designs (I took mine along with me, but did try another wheel during the day) and spinning yarn. Diane and her siblings who came along spent time with everyone in the group as required, quietly keeping an eye, quick to offer assistance in a very unobtrusive and encouraging manner. Lots of reassurance and suggestions of variations of how to hold the fibre, position of hands, angle of wheels etc. to settle each of us into finding our own style and what suited each individual. We enjoyed exchanging tales of each other's exploits, experience and a few laughs, each leaving with a hank of homespun yarn. Whilst I did have some history of spinning (30 yrs ago), the day inspired me, boosted my confidence and provided a few little gems of understanding the underlying process. I now feel that I am in control of the wheel and when things go adrift a little, I understand how to review and correct the process. Extremely good value for money, given that we had 5 hours of teaching, tea/coffee, a light lunch, all materials provided and numerous wheels available, along with other pieces of equipment, this course must be the best in terms of vfm. The setting was good, easily found, venue very suitable for the course. For me, the course was absolutely perfect, very practical and couldn't suggest any way in which it might be improved. A resounding thumbs up, thank you, hope to return to polish my skills when I've had some practice at home!"

Francesca reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"Would absolutely recommend this course, I absolutely loved it! The setting is a lovely authentic creative space and Jolene is a fantastic tutor who knows when to give guidance and how to help people to think creatively. Each participant ended up with something entirely individual and I've worn mine everyday since! Am planning on doing it again."

Shireen reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"My husband and I did Catherine's soap making course in Poole back in May. It was an excellent day. Learnt loads, the set-up of sitting around a big table made a nice learning environment, refreshments and breaks were provided, and the course took the scary out of working with lye. Our soaps came out really well and we have been giving them to friends and family. Great value for money and I would thoroughly recommend."

Karen reviewed: Handspinning workshop

"As a novice I managed to get in every tangle possible, create every knot known to humankind, even managed catch the threading tool into the spin, and enjoyed every minute. Diane and the team were patient, helpful, prepared to step in or hang back depending on your preference, and left me feeling confident that even if I'll never be a great spinner, I do know what to do and how to cope with all those little things that can crop up. The option to try different types of wheel was invaluable and I came away with a hank of ply wool that my other half described as rustic, but it was all my own work and I think it looks great. Great value, would recommend."

Rick Wheaton reviewed: Woodturning in Devon with Colin Simpson

"Just had a full day one-to-one turning course with Colin. His expertise and experience are second to none and he is a superb communicator. I was put at my ease, made to feel relaxed and at home (literally - a very pleasant lunch in Colin's kitchen was included!) and most importantly I was taught dozens of new skills in turning and sharpening. Excellent! Most enjoyable! Highly recommended!"

JoAnn Thornton reviewed: Furniture painting workshop with Annie Sloan chalk paint

"I really enjoyed the lesson with Lucy. She is fabulously clear and I am really grateful that she repeated all the steps slowly after demonstrating them, so we could take good notes, as I might well have forgotten them otherwise. She is patient and really encouraging. I most definitely will have a go at home now! Thank you so much, Lucy!"

Ligia Rodrigues reviewed: Graceful Bowl Turning with Inviting Lines - Full Day Course

"Martin is very patient and excellent at explaining, not just how to use the tools / place your body, move, etc. but also why doing things a certain way is preferred and what effect it has on the piece. Martin explained what to look for when choosing a blank and how to choose which side of the blank to use for the face, etc. I learnt much more than just how to turn a bowl… I learnt about workshop safety and design of the piece amongst many other things, like choosing the right size drill bit for a screw chuck. Great value for money and highly recommended. I shall be back for the colouring workshop once I’ve perfected the skills learnt today. It was a great day, and thank you for your patience."

Celia reviewed: Amazing encaustic art day course

"I have been trying to book a course for about 2 years but work kept getting in the way .... Finally last Friday I made it - and it was worth the wait . A great day and Phil is patient and has a great teaching style - I had produced something I was proud of in the first hour and given that I do not consider myself artistic in any way - the running joke is I can't even draw the curtains"
