Hannah Thompson reviewed: One to one pottery throwing class in Worksop

"I bought this for myself and my Dad to do as his Christmas present; and he absolutely loved it! He has wanted to do it since he was a school boy so he was literally beaming from ear to ear throughout. We had to rearrange timings but Harriet was very flexible which was greatly appreciated. When we arrived on the day, Harriet was amazing with both of us, as Dad and I clearly had different skill levels. As a gift it was brilliant and we had something to look forward to! Highly recommend and well worth the money. Thank you Harriet :)"

Ruth Clinch reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Bought a day course for my partner and 15yr old son as part of their Christmas present. My son had expressed an interest in blacksmithing back in September and after talking to Chris at the Christmas fair in Worcester went home and booked them in. Possibly the best present I could have bought them!! Chris was patient and personable and answered all the questions thrown at him. I had gone along as a spectator and enjoyed it as much as the other two! They got to make and finish a leaf key ring and as they had time left Chris showed my son some other techniques to use and he made a decorative dragoness (definitely a she)! We were expecting to be in a class with other people but it was so nice as it was only the three of us. A definite selling point!! Would recommend this highly and my son has an interview in a couple of weeks for a place on a smithing course- testimony to Chris’s skills!"

Laura Booth reviewed: Landscapes and seascapes at the Cheshire School of Glass

"I have recently been on a course in Frodsham in Cheshire and had a wonderful course. I loved the results and the teaching so much , I've booked another course immediately. The teacher has a brilliant structure to the course. She has an easy going manner that makes you immediately feel at ease , yet effortlessly took us all through the process of working with glass and inspired us all to make the most wonderful pieces. I don't know how she did it! I don't consider myself to be very good at art, although I love creating! However Jennifer made it so inspiring I feel we just all responded to her inspiring approach. An amazing experience. I can't wait to do the next one. I have mentioned Cheshire School of glass to Wilmslow WI as I think they would love to do it in groups. Laura Booth"

With so many options and possibilities, next time we might consider all having the same aim in mind so as to all learn a particular skill. We are all very pleased with our finished work."

Charlotte reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"In 3 sessions, plus some homework, I have made a wonderful, felt button, trimmed with a beaded felt flower, curls and a feather. I am very proud. Margaret guided me to make the hat even better for a first attempt than I could have imagined. I'm going back to Margaret to learn about using sinamay for the spring and summer."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Charlotte, for your review of my course Introducing Millinery. I too, am delighted with the results of your course. Your spectacular lined mustard yellow felt contemporary headpiece features an individually pieced mustard “dahlia” style felt flower and is trimmed with a contrasting marroon peacock feather quill. I know you will wear your headpiece with pride next autumn. Now I am looking foward to teaching you and your mother about summer millinery, in advance of this Spring’s racing season! See you very soon! Thank you again, Margaret"

Michaela reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"This was the second time I took this course, as I so enjoyed my first encounter with Trisha and the clay! The atmosphere, as before, was serene and positive, and it was lovely to spend the whole day with like-minded, kind and supportive people. It was such a relaxing experience and Trisha is really patient, helpful and the perfect guide to help you have fun with the clay. Everyone on the course had many items that they could take home and be proud of. Lunch was delicious and intimate (in Trisha’s gorgeous and cosy kitchen) and just another highlight of the day. Thank you so much Trisha! I really look forward to another day of glazing."

Julia Obiomo Longo reviewed: Adult pottery classes (hand building) at Terra Mia UK

"My 12 year old son and myself went to a couple of workshops at Terra Mia UK, it was great and I highly recommend going there. The teacher is excellent and we both managed to make very nice pieces under her careful guidance even if we were inexperienced. The setting is very pleasant with a homely feel and the classes are small which gives a one to one feeling. The combination of the quality of the teaching, the craft learned and the setting makes it a very creative and relaxing workshop."
