Sean Kirby reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"WOW! What a day. Having never turned a piece of wood before and looking for a new hobby I was bought a days course with Mark. From the start Mark was vey patient and informative. Explaining about Lathes, tools and techniques. At each stage going to the lathe to practice the tool and technique. By lunchtime having tested Marks patience ( he is very patient) i felt confident enough to try a bigger challenge. The Bowl. The afternoon was spent putting all the mornings practice into creating a bowl. It was amazing seeing this block of Oak taking shape. It took a while but the result was well worth it. I have been on other course doing different stuff and you get the feeling that some teachers are happy for you to make somthing and say "not bad for a first attempt". Not in Mark's case. Whatever you make Mark wants it to be right, and i felt the time spent getting the bowl right was so worth it. The after course email is brilliant giving you lots of recommendations on what to buy and where to get the beat deals. Thankyou Mark"

Debs reviewed: Creating shadows and light in your collagraph prints, course in artists studio near York

"I highly recommend this course! Emily's approach is relaxed and combines just the right amount of information and guidance whilst letting us go with out own flow. We were contacted before the course to discuss the themes we were interested in, so the course was really tailored to us. It was a luxury to have 2 days immersed in printing in such a lovely environment - Emily's workshop space and the garden were very conducive to creativity. I was delighted with what I had achieved and came away with a stack of colourful prints and a desire to do more!! Emily really is an excellent tutor!"

Louise Hunt reviewed: Foraged Basket 2 day Course

"This was my first course with Joe, and I’d received it as a present. What a fabulous gift! It turned out to be the first course of many. I am addicted. Joe is a very patient teacher, helping you to creat a unique basket. The course are only small groups so you all revive lots of 1:2:1 guidance throughout the day. Weaving is like therapy; it is so absorbing that you can shut down the stresses in life, just get on with your basket. The courses are excellent value for money."

Creative with Nature Ltd responded:

"thanks Louise: ) xxx"

Laura H reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"I went to the resting hare workshop with my mum and we had a fantastic day! Richard demonstrated the techniques to us and then guided us through the process so we all were all supported during each stage. I'd never done ceramics before so it was good to learn a new skill in a fun, relaxed environment. Tilly the dog was also extremely welcoming and a very jolly addition to the day! I'd definitely recommend coming to one of these workshops, you won't regret it!"

Evelyn reviewed: Marvellous Mosaic one day workshop

"I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop as an introduction to mosaic craft. In a relaxed atmosphere and surrounded by displays of Lindsay's own stunning mosaics, she will guide you through techniques, tools and tiles. You can decide your own design then choose which tiles to use from her large selection of shapes, colours and textures. You will also learn how to safely use nippers to create your own desired shapes. The small class size means you get lots of individual guidance and can work at your own pace. I guarantee that when you get your creation home, you will start planning your next, more ambitious, design. Thanks, Lindsey, for great day."

Lindsey Kennedy Portfolio responded:

"Dear Evelyn, thank you so much for the lovely review. I am so glad you enjoyed the workshop and you should be proud of the mosaics you created. I am also thrilled to hear that it is spurred you on to trying out new projects independently. My job is done!"

Martyn Williams reviewed: Needle felted Valentines workshop with 2 Inspire You

"A fun and inspiring workshop. Great venue, plenty of room to work but also cosy enough to share experiences with class mates. Rachel made the day relaxed and taught me brand new skills that I will take away with me. Appreciated the encouragement and freedom to play around with lots of colours, materials, fabrics and use multiple techniques. I would definitely recommend the course, Rachel is a lovely teacher and the day just made me smile from start to finish."

Garth Powell reviewed: Stone carving in mid Cornwall

"Recently retired, my wife decided that I needed a new hobby and booked me onto a weekend course with Peter at his workshop at the Red Store in Lerryn, a really beautiful setting. Peter is a fantastic tutor and within a couple of minutes I was hooked on the hobby. Peter provides superb one-to-one tuition, all the carving tools, all the Portland Limestone, endless tea and coffee and a superb (home grown) luncheon. I have since, with Peter's guidance, purchased a starter set of stone carving chisels and a mallet and now, whenever I get under my wife's feet (which I seem to have a knack of doing) I head off to the garage and happily chip away........ I have already booked a further tuition day with Peter next month. Give it a go or you'll never know......."

Dawn Peters reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"Highly recommend Twisted Earth Ceramics workshops if you want a lovely day creating something to be proud of. Richard takes you through the process step by step with humour and patience. Each and every person on the two workshops I've done came away amazed at what they'd achieved in the course of a day. We all sculpted pieces that had their own charm rather than exact replicas and I'm sure they'll all have pride of place in our homes. Thankyou so much Richard for a very special day!"

Christine Donaldson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Cannot recommend this course highly enough! The setting was wonderful (Kerry's house) and the set up very welcoming. Kerry is very knowledgeable (who knew I was burning candles wrong for all these years!) and was happy to share her wisdom. The range of scents for adding to your candle was very good and included things like lavender, chocolate, basil, bergamot, lime, mandarin which meant that every taste was catered for. We also mixed up our own scent to add to a future candle. The end product looked very professional and I have now got my Christmas presents sorted - thanks Kerry!"

Debbie Staton reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"I treated myself and two daughters to the highland cow course, as total beginners i didnt expect to do very well but Richard is a talented tutor and took us step by step to produce a highland cow. I enjoyed it so much that i have been on one of his two day courses to produce a larger piece, again he was so patient and helpful. We all are looking forward to attending more of his classes, word of warning....its very addictive!"

Sharon Simpson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"As a seasoned workshop participant I can genuinely recommend this as one of the best, not merely in relation to creativity but also value for money. There’s a real ‘feel good’ vibe and a sense of nurturing and wellbeing. To take home a candle I would be happy to gift to anyone was the icing on the cake. I knew a bit about candle making but learned so much more from Kerrylyn who seems to be a natural teacher. Looking forward to the next one already."

Jill B reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"My daughter and I spent a great day with Richard making Highland Cows at the light and airy studio next to the Manor House in Ilkley. I am not at all artistic and have not made anything with clay before, but with step by step instructions, a Highland Cow emerged from the block of clay we started with. I highly recommend Richard's workshops."

Jasmin reviewed: 2-Day Traditional Stained Glass Painting Course for Beginners

"On arrival I was nervous as although I had done some glass painting before, my skills were very basic and inexpert. Nathalie provides excellent guidance and support, so that I was able to test myself and try new challenges. Her encouraging style of teaching and openness to experimentation rather than necessarily having to adhere to a strict syllabus was very beneficial and much appreciated."

Anita Adams reviewed: Create a ceramic animal sculpture with Twisted Earth Ceramics at Ilkley Manor Studio

"What a total treat the day spent making Rupert the hare was! A day spent doing something just for me, learning a new skill with a wonderful teacher, surrounded by lovely people and having a giggle. In a world where we barely stop to breathe, I would highly recommend you spend the time you do have doing this! I came away from the session feeling so proud to have achieved something, all the sculptures the class made, despite being beginners, were amazing! None of us wanted to leave them behind and can’t wait to collect them in a few weeks. Thank you for a wonderful day that this very busy working, home educating mummy will not forget in a long time. Xx"
