Kerry Wilson reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"This is a lovely way to spend a morning. Kerry is so knowledgeable about everything to do with making candles and explains it in a way that you leave with enough confidence to go home and try it yourself. Would definitely recommend this course to my friends and family!"

Carole Rea reviewed: Tambour beading: a haute couture technique

"An excellent day. Audrey patiently took us through the history and basics of tambour beading. It was a small class so easy to learn and plenty of opportunity to ask for assurance when working. I can away very inspired and can't wait to try my hand at home with the techniques I learned. I will definitely do the advanced course later in the year, in the meanwhile will carry on practicing. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone interested in this skill. Thank you Audrey"

Caroline Hansford reviewed: 1-to-1 Organic Skincare Workshop at Maid in the Meadow

"This workshop exceeded my expectations! I love 'playing' with essential oils, evocative scents and this gave the opportunity to combine that with producing useful cosmetics with an expert and the good company of friends. Our small group (3) meant we could get individual expert input and involvement with all aspects of the processes. I would like to have got 'hands on' a little sooner, but plenty was achieved and I've come home with lots of useful products that smell gorgeous too! The surroundings and company helped make it a very enjoyable and worthwhile day...much recommended."

Debbie Stevens reviewed: Introduction to candle-making as a business

"Five Star Course and fun day. I cannot recommend highly enough Jo's course. Jo is friendly, informative and an exceptional host. She shared her knowledge willingly and thoroughly, explaining the background and reasons clearly for the activities we were doing. The resources available from types of wax to containers/moulds and fragrances was superb. I came away confident of trying this craft on my own. BUT most of all it was a fun day with laughter in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks Jo!"

The White Candle Company responded:

"Thank you Debbie, so glad you had a good time. Do keep in touch and let me see any pics of anything you decide to make! Take care xx"

SKC reviewed: Make a spindle-back chair

"Making a chair quite literally from scratch is an experience I won't forget. The sense of achievement and pride at the end is well worth the effort. I was impressed with Peter's ingenuity and his hand made tools. It was deeply humbling to learn a little of his craft. If you have any apprehensions about signing up, be brave, you won't regret it! P.s. a shout-out also goes to Peter's wife who made us such delicious lunches each day. Thank you to you both!"

Green Ash Chairs responded:

"Thanks SK, what a very heartening response! My wife and I are very pleased you enjoyed the lunches. Enjoy your chair!"

Sylvain Ayite reviewed: Make a spindle-back chair

"For me taking taking part in this course was both tranformative and elevating and I enjoyed it so much. "Following the grain" was not only in working with the wood, it was also in the way I related to myself during this process and also in the way Hakim related to me. I feel truly humbled and grateful to have been taught how to make a chair to seat on...and it fits so beautifully in my kitchen. Merci. Sylvain Ayite"

Green Ash Chairs responded:

"Thanks Sylvain, it was a pleasure to have your company for 5 days! Enjoy you chair!"

Jacquie Banister reviewed: Textile design one day workshop for adults with Penny Mason, Birmingham (NO CLASSES UNTIL MARCH 2021)

"I have just arrived home after a long journey, but well worth the effort to spend the day having fun printing with Penny. The day was lovely from start to finish and it was everything I'd hoped for and more! Straight away I was made to feel welcome and relaxed in Penny's beautiful home. We were plied with drinks and nourishment all day and the soup and special olive bread at lunch was delicious. The day was really 'full on' in a relaxed atmosphere with great company. We explored the effects we created, (using various methods of block printing and designs) on different materials. I found Penny so helpful, knowledgeable and inspiring; there were plenty of questions and Penny always had the answers! Thank you so much Penny for a fabulous, fun, friendly and formative day! I look forward to my next visit.... perhaps in your new studio."

Rozzie Love reviewed: Upholstery weekly classes

"A challenging first project I was told! - with Karen's 'can do' attitude and support, I succeeded in finishing a complex chair in a two day workshop followed by a couple of one off sessions. I loved the small group size and that we were all working on different projects. Karen's ability to 'hold' us all at our different stages with different needs was extraordinary and I'm looking forward to returning. Great coffee too!"

Chloe Plummer reviewed: Organic bread for beginners with Cate Wetherall

"I was given this course as a Birthday present and I was a bit unsure it would be 'my type of thing to do', but I thought it was great! Not stuffy at all, lovely place to go and learn to make bread!, Cate was a great teacher and everyone was made to feel really welcome, plenty of tea and a nice pizza for lunch. I went home with a loaf and a dozen lovely brown rye rolls and didn't have to take a thing with me! Recommend having a go if you are in the Oxfordshire area like me, although there are some great local places to stay if you needed to."

Kim Bond reviewed: Upcycling Paint & Paper Decoupage Furniture Workshop Experience: Spend Two Days with ReVamp Boutique

"I attended the up-cycling course and really enjoyed it, in fact, I have just used the skills I was taught to revamp a piece of furniture for my 10 year old granddaughter who was over the moon with it, now my other granddaughter Gracie wants me to do something for her bedroom, looks like I will be a busy bee. The course was very informative with a lovely ambience xx Kim xx"

Annemieke Waite reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"This was my second course with Dunja, having previously done the introduction to spinning, which was equally good. A day out at Dunja's gorgeous farmhouse - where mobile phone reception is rare! - means you're able to completely focus on learning a new skill. Both courses have been excellent and the introduction to weaving made me buy a rigid heddle loom the very same day. I'm pleased to say it's already set up with a new piece of weaving and looking good! I can't recommend Dunja's courses enough and will definitely be back for more!"

Clare Buckland reviewed: Paper Making - Hand Made Recycled Paper

"I thought this was an excellent course and well run. Wendy is engaging and informative without sounding 'preachy' and obviously has a love for her chosen profession. The verbal instructions were clear and well thought out and the addition of a printed instruction worksheet following the course was an added bonus. The fact that all the materials used can be supplied in your average home without the expense of having to buy specialist tools to carry on (and that we could take the mould home with us ) was very welcome. This is my second course at The Little Craftery and would not hesitate to book again and recommend others do likewise."

Diana Favell reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"I did this one day course 2 weeks ago having taken a spinning day with Dunja in January. It was a lovely day. Dunja is thorough, patient and very well organised, which makes for an immersive and very satisfying day. And you take home a scarf that you have made! Thank you Dunja."

Mary Blackie reviewed: 1-to-1 Organic Skincare Workshop at Maid in the Meadow

"The course content was interesting and very informative. Our learning covered many aspects of health and safety over the course of the day. We all LOVED learning to make the creams, and understanding fully the processes involved. Having already made some basic creams/ointments myself at home, this has given me the knowledge and confidence to make more 'advanced' products by myself. The course was excellent value, both with regard to the learning on the day, the course materials we each brought home, and the products we each brought home. ALL products are EXCELLENT on skin, particularly mine as I have psoriasis and sensitive skin generally. I booked the day with 2 other friends and having such a small group meant that we had intensive support from Allison, who certainly 'knows her stuff' and is happy to discuss all or any aspects of natural beauty and healthcare. BRILLIANT day of learning in a positive, supportive and fun environment. THANK YOU ALLISON!"

Jane Filer reviewed: Watercolour painting day - Floral & botanical - with artist Laura Andrew

"I had an amazing day working on a variety of techniques. Laura is an excellent teacher and an accomplished artist herself. She makes you feel very at ease and gives you a lot of pointers, without constricting your creativity. Her studio is the most amazing environment to paint in. Generous resources were readily available and the array of flowers we could choose to paint filled our space with heady fragrance. Lunch was great too. I couldn't have asked for more of the day. Definitely want to do a repeat,"

Amanda Ellison reviewed: Dragon Making: 2 Day Course

"Dragon Making Weekend was an amazing experience with John and his team helping four of us each make unique dragons who can be made to breathe fire. John and his two colleagues made us feel at home and completely safe. The course was professionally run, starting by making a poker to get us used to working with metal. There was just the right balance of supportive tuition and expert guidance enabling all of us to master a range of techniques. As the dragons had captured our imaginations, the weekend was not quite long enough to assemble all the component parts so John and Spencer kindly gave up a couple of hours one afternoon to help me put ‘Matilda’ together. I now have the most amazing fire breathing dragon who is 80cm tall with a wingspan of 70cm. She holds pride of place in my garden. The course was excellent and I highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much."

Anvil Forge responded:

"Hi Amanda thanks for kind words , please send picture of matilda when she is home and comfortable! best wishes John"

Holly Wilkinson reviewed: One to one pottery throwing class in Worksop

"I booked this class as an early Father’s Day for my Dad as he had always wanted to have a go at pottery, we definitely got our money’s worth! We both made 4/5 items each, all to a high quality due to Harriet’s perfect tutoring and guidance. We were chuffed with the results! We also got the option to return and glaze the items when they are dry. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted to try a throwing class with no pressure and in a relaxed in environment! Harriet also makes some amazing one off pieces! Brilliant experience!"
