MARILYN HOLE reviewed: Silver Jewellery Workshop

"As a complete beginner to using the tools etc I found the class really interesting, I'd definitely do another. I would have loved to have seen more of Jenny's work, maybe an introduction right at the beginning with a coffee and examples of her work to see what we can aspire to! Thanks, Marilyn"

Fiona Louise Henderson reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"Rebecca's beginners workshop was a wonderful introduction to the craft. Just run with two of us on it so plenty of time to be guided and ask qiestions. Looms were already set up so we had time to actually weave but Rebecca gave us a clear explanation of the steps and work inbolved in setting up so we had a good idea of what that would involve if we wanted to do more in the future. The manual which R gave use was again very helpful and clear. I thoroughly enjoyed the morning, the 3 of us had a lovely chat and I came away with a food sampler and an urge to buy a loom! Also.good biscuits :-)"

Christine Redmond reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"I did the four day course and I can’t recommend it enough. I wasn’t just taught how to do something but everyway to do it and then helped to find the best way to do it. Jamal’s experience, ability and depth of knowledge are immense - I have reams of notes that I took at the end of each day so that I didn’t forget all the tips and techniques - I feel I have learnt so much. Also the environment Jamal creates is so calm and relaxing that it teaches you to slow down, which I think is essential for stained glass. Myself and the lovely girl I shared the corse with, Emma, left each day feeling like we’d been at a spa."

"What an amazing experience. Two days of laughs and fun and wood. Phil is a great teacher, allowing you to work at your own speed. Avengers nev picked up a wood turning chisel I felt very confident after just a short time getting stuck into my first ever bowl. Both Phil and his partner make you feel at home with a steady supply of tea and a wonderful local lunch.. by day two I was totally hooked and wanting to get my first lathe. This course is a must for beginners and experienced wood turners alike Phil knowledge is exceptional.. well worth completing."

Camilla reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing and hand building full day

"Had a great day with six of us in Richard's studio. Lots of fun and we all came out enthused with some pretty decent attempts on the wheel - even if 5 /6 of us were left handed ( a bit of a challenge on a right handed wheel). Richard was very calm and patient with us all and has a great depth of knowledge. Highly recommended and can't wait to see the fired results."

Les Hadlington reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Booked a half a day course wanted to try something different, the venue was just a few miles away in a nice quiet area just away from the busy rat race. Chris was very welcoming and after a short induction we were away making a keyring which involved many different ways of shaping the hot steel. Chris took his time to work with me at my pace and was very informative all through the course. We had a good chat while we working and it made a very enjoyable morning. I was very happy with the finished keyring and amazed how many different stages we went through including waxing the final stage. I would recommend Chris to everyone good friendly knowledgeably instructor. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. Les"

Gill Robinson reviewed: Needle felt landscapes workshop on Orkney, including lunch

"I am very to new needle felting and needed some guidance on technique and types of wool. Catherine was very patient and understanding and the tuition was excellent. Catherine was encouraging and really believed that I could create the picture that I wanted. WIth her help and support I have created a lovely picture which I will (hopefully) frame and display. I would recommend a workshop with Catherine and Arts A Flutter if you want to have a go at needle felting, or indeed any of the other craft courses which are offered."

Sunsun reviewed: Make and decorate a ceramic bowl in one session

"Absolutely loved this workshop. Having one afternoon being creative and chatting with people from everywhere in a nice open atmosphere is a really great experience. Plus I can pick the fired work up afterwards. The fire itself is full of magical. And living in this lovely expectation of a few weeks of a new piece made by myself is such a wonderful thing. So far I made a bowl and a cat cup from Josie's workshop. She is a wonderful teacher, a great listener, and a good friend of us now. Best thing is, drinking from a cup made by myself, even ordinary tea taste a million times better :)"
