Ruth reviewed: Beginners Weaving with the Rigid Heddle Loom - at All in a Spin

"I recommend that anyone who wants to treat themselves should go to Dunja's weaving class. It is set in such an idyllic spot of Cymdu and the converted stables studio is very modern yet consistent with the surroundings. Excellent teaching from Dunja, a very relaxing atmosphere and enjoyable company. Learning how to weave and given all the helpful tips has given me the confidence to make a hobby of it."

Fiona Armstrong reviewed: Improvers Rigid Heddle weaving at All in a spin

"Great to build on the Beginners Rigid Heddle course that I took 6 months ago. Dunja has a wealth of knowledge, and the studio is a calm and peaceful place to learn. I loved the sampler using pick-up sticks; weaving now has me firmly in it’s grip! This really opened my eyes about moving on from plain weave, and the potential to create beautiful fabric."

Carol reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"Wonderful day and excellent value. I attended the course in Febuary and came away buzzing with ideas to try at home. Catherine is a welcoming experienced host & provides great atmosphere in her studio. I attended on my own, but we all sat round a big table learning the background to soap making, helpful tips and then made our 2 batches of soap together. The day flew past and Catherine expertise and support to all of us as a group and individuals increased our confidence in experimenting with different formulations. Would highly recommend this course."

Michael Whiteside reviewed: Make a Windsor-style stool

"This course is one of the most brilliant and enjoyable I have done. My wife, Liz, bought me the course for Christmas as she had enjoyed it so much- and that says it all: I have worked with wood before, but learnt many new-to-me traditional skills working from the 'green' chunk of tree we started with. Liz on the other hand, had never so much as cut a piece of wood before, and yet we both have a lovely chair that Ben taught us to craft. Ben is a very skilled communicator, teacher and craftsperson, who guides you through the traditional process and tools to make your own gorgeous chair or table from - well- a chunk of tree. My group of 6 was a mix of men and women from of novice to experienced; we all enjoyed the course and came out with good looking chairs that we can be proud of, thanks to Ben's teaching. I highly recommend Ben's course, especially if you want some time out from the busy world, immersed in a focused, creative and rewarding process. Michael, Feb 2019"

Oli Ashford reviewed: Welding course: Mig, Tig, Stick, with the Iron Lady - Bradwell Blacksmiths

"I cannot recommend this enough! Just got home from an absolutely brilliant day. Natalie is a great teacher - knowledgeable, enthusiastic and excellent at observing and correcting your mistakes. I've gone from zero skills to having the confidence to practice alone and improve. I'll definitely be attending some of her more advanced courses. The time flew past and I was sorry to leave. Thanks Natalie!"

Sue reviewed: Introduction to Soft Pastels 10-week face-to-face art course in Kidderminster West Midlands

"If you are interested in art and want to try it for yourself I cannot recommend this course highly enough! Raya Brown is knowledgeable, encouraging and a brilliant, intuitive teacher. I have learnt so much in just 7 weeks and another 7 to go....you learn the basics and although some may find that tedious there is no way you can draw or paint anything believable without it. Spheres to mugs, tin cans to flowers they may seem random but they teach you to really SEE shapes! Colours will never look the same again and green will never just be green! I am hoping Raya will do a further course to continue building on our skills and perhaps even special courses such as landscapes, flowers or animals. I am addicted to drawing Thanks to Raya Brown"

Julie Wallen reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"My sister and I spent a wounderful morning re- connecting with our childhood love of lino printing, gently guided and inspired by our fabulous teacher Armi. Her workshop was really good fun, inclusive, informal and inspirational. Armi gave us the confidence to try new ideas and approaches through positive encouragement, demonstrations and plenty of source material to work from. Her studio is well equipped, full of really interesting found objects and a great range of equipment, making for a really immersive experience - and the cake! Heaven!"

Charles Adlington reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"It may seem an expensive day but it is not. These days have been phenomenal, this is a true insight in to the craft of the blacksmith, and you get to keep all the cool stuff you make. The Smith (Nigel) is professional and entertaining throughout the day, a true font of knowledge with the patience of a saint for us less accomplished skilled people. I highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in this remarkable field."

Melissa Jackson reviewed: Knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"I had a lovely one-to-one session with Ann this morning! I haven't knitted for about 40 years and she made me feel so relaxed and excited to get going with my knitting projects. I (re) learnt how to cast on and off, knit a row, purl a row, knit/purl and increase and decrease. I'll keep this review short as glancing above everything has been said. Just great and I'm booking in with Ann for a crochet session VERY soon!"

Leeds Central Faith and Light responded:

"Thank you Melissa for your kind review. I am pleased you have been able to pick up your knitting skills again and make use of them. I look forward to seeing you for your crochet workshop. Kind regards Ann"

Emma Lavelle reviewed: Beginners Photography Course / One day beginners photography workshop

"As a self-taught amateur photographer, I really wanted to hone my skills and learn about the basics from a professional. I'm a travel blogger, so I need to have amazing images for my site, and following from my day learning how to use my camera with Lucy, I feel like I can now push my images to the next level. Would highly recommend this course to anyone who is picking up their DSLR for the first time or someone who already knows the basics but wants to feel more confident with their camera."

D Turner reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Booked as a solo attendee, expected to be part of a larger class but was impressed to find I'd be getting 1-to-1 tuition for the entire day. From a starting point of zero experience, Chris' blend of experience, patience and clear teaching technique helped my to create the ubiquitous key ring and an elegant 'Game of Thrones' styled letter opener. You don't need to be a bear-sized medeival smith either - effort is akin to hammering nails into a wooden board rather than weilding something Thor would struggle to loft. Exellent day with a nice and knowlegable guy - the fact he's booked up so far into 2019 pays testiment to his skills and passion."

Tony Thatcher reviewed: Creative Writing Workshops

"I had been thinking about writing for a long time but didn't know how to move it forward. Joining Jo's evening writing sessions a couple of years ago I found myself spending time with a lovely group discovering how much fun creative writing can be. This led to the monthly Saturdays in The Salthouse. It's a lovely calm space where like minded people take time out from their usual lives to write, discuss writing and exchange ideas and inspiration. Jo is a very experienced teacher, leader and facilitator who is sensitive and responsive to individuals and takes great care to ensure that everyone benefits from attending. With Jo's guidance and encouragement I am now starting to make headway with my writing and now have the confidence to consider myself a writer."

Josephine Dawn Munroe responded:

"Thanks very much Tony, so glad you are getting lots out of the workshops, always great to have you on board with your fabulous ideas, writing and input. Jo"

Trudi walsh reviewed: Bespoke Interlined Curtains

"After alot of searching for courses I finally found Janet's Make for Home range of courses. I am a complete beginner, I have made a few simple curtains but wanted to try making Roman blinds. I really enjoyed the course, found the time went too quickly and Janet is very patient and explains the process in simple terms. Detailed course notes were provided which will come in very handy when I make my first blind. Janet is a lovely lady and looks after you very well with home made lunch, tea and biscuits throughout the day. I travelled from Liverpool to attend and wouldn't hesitate to book another course, best one I have been on."

Lily-Rose reviewed: Sculpture, ceramics, painting at Lucky Studio - London

"I have been attending Lucky's art classes for over three years now, and not once have I had a doubt about returning next weekend. Her lessons are an amazing experience, and I feel sorry for anyone who does not come. We learn how to sculpt In pottery, draw in detail, and many other amazing skills through projects (such as paper mache sea creatures on boards, and for paintings on tiles). Lucky's studio is amazing!"

"What an amazing inspirational course! Alison is very clear, patient and encouraging in her teaching and made this introduction course a complete pleasure to attend. Fun, relaxed and informative and I learned loads including those hard to find tips and secrets gained only through experience and which Alison was so happy to share.
