Elaine Moore reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Dave was a great teacher, informative, helpful and patient. He made sure everyone knew what they were doing and gave advice when needed. Being a complete novice when it comes to spoon carving, I now feel confident I could carve a variety of spoons on my own. I had an amazing time, and the flapjacks were extremely yummy!"

Helen Collinson reviewed: Introduction to summer millinery - 1 day - Newcastle NE1

"This course was the first time I had blocked a hat. I was so pleased with the results I wore my button to a friends wedding. No one would have known I made my head peice myself -except I could not help but advertise the fact to everyone who admired it."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Helen, for your review of the summer millinery workshop series. I really enjoy helping my students to choose their colours and encouraging them to believe that with help and guidance not only can they only design their own piece but also make it to a very satisfactory standard, and finally wear it with pride. In fact this I find is one of the most fulfilling aspects of leading this workshop series. It was wonderful to receive the images from the wedding you attended, and to see your wearing you headpiece with justifiable pride! Very many thanks again Helen for the lovely review"

Judith Stafford reviewed: Gelli Printmaking with No5workshops Group Booking

"Well organised course in a bright, inspirational setting. The teacher gave a well informed introduction with some simple warm up exercises to put everyone at ease. There was a range of experience and ability in the studio, but with Armi’s encouragement everybody went home clutching several prints, with which they were all thrilled. A fresh coffee a slice of homemade chocolate cake was a bonus. A lovely morning."

no5workshops responded:

I liked the fact that Mark and Richard showed us what to do and then left us to do it but still there if we needed them. The end result was a great box that my friends did not believe that I had really made and were very impressed. Thank you very much Mark and Richard ."

Andrew Bennett reviewed: Three day blacksmithing course

"I spent a hugely enjoyable three days on the blacksmith course at Bluefoot Ironworks. I left with several items I had made, the skills I had learned, and the enthusiasm to carry on making things on a forge. Pete Smith has the gift of passing on knowledge, seemingly effortlessly. Heather Smith provides delicious home-cooked food. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough."

"I signed up for this workshop on the spur of the moment, wanting to try something completely different. I’m not an artist but have creative leanings and thought this may be a new outlet. Hannah Thompson reviewed: One to one pottery throwing class in Worksop

"I bought this for myself and my Dad to do as his Christmas present; and he absolutely loved it! He has wanted to do it since he was a school boy so he was literally beaming from ear to ear throughout. We had to rearrange timings but Harriet was very flexible which was greatly appreciated. When we arrived on the day, Harriet was amazing with both of us, as Dad and I clearly had different skill levels. As a gift it was brilliant and we had something to look forward to! Highly recommend and well worth the money. Thank you Harriet :)"

Ruth Clinch reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"Bought a day course for my partner and 15yr old son as part of their Christmas present. My son had expressed an interest in blacksmithing back in September and after talking to Chris at the Christmas fair in Worcester went home and booked them in. Possibly the best present I could have bought them!! Chris was patient and personable and answered all the questions thrown at him. I had gone along as a spectator and enjoyed it as much as the other two! They got to make and finish a leaf key ring and as they had time left Chris showed my son some other techniques to use and he made a decorative dragoness (definitely a she)! We were expecting to be in a class with other people but it was so nice as it was only the three of us. A definite selling point!! Would recommend this highly and my son has an interview in a couple of weeks for a place on a smithing course- testimony to Chris’s skills!"

Laura Booth reviewed: Landscapes and seascapes at the Cheshire School of Glass

"I have recently been on a course in Frodsham in Cheshire and had a wonderful course. I loved the results and the teaching so much , I've booked another course immediately. The teacher has a brilliant structure to the course. She has an easy going manner that makes you immediately feel at ease , yet effortlessly took us all through the process of working with glass and inspired us all to make the most wonderful pieces. I don't know how she did it! I don't consider myself to be very good at art, although I love creating! However Jennifer made it so inspiring I feel we just all responded to her inspiring approach. An amazing experience. I can't wait to do the next one. I have mentioned Cheshire School of glass to Wilmslow WI as I think they would love to do it in groups. Laura Booth"
