Jeremy Wyman reviewed: Leather long stitch journal / artist's book (beginners)

"Yet another excellent course from a Platinum Craft Course provider. We do lots of courses and this one is one of the best. We have the journals we made in pride of place in our hall for all to see and couldn’t have done it without Lynne’s careful help. Lots of interesting discussion, really good cake and excellent notes to take away if you want to continue. These notes have to be commended as they are clear complete and helpful. Downside is that we have now started looking at any leather item in a new light, wondering how many covers we could get out of a leather coat in the charity shop for example!"

Magda reviewed: Rag Rug Half Day Workshop - Hertfordshire

"What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, with a small group of interesting people and in such a beautiful setting. This was a completely new craft for me that I'd never tried before. We had great instruction and good company, washed down with lots of teas and coffees. We were shown precisely how to use the various hooking tools and given thorough guidance in the most efficient way of producing the rag strips for our pieces, then we were well on our way. Elspeth's book is full of inspiration with clear pictures and diagrams, and lovely photos of finished projects. While we worked we were given tips and hints, and our work was inspected which helped us make corrections in the way we worked. I enjoyed my afternoon so much, I look forward to attending another workshop and perhaps tackling a more ambitious project."

Susan Hylands reviewed: Fused Glass - Taster

"I purchased the taster workshop as a present for my friend, we went went along together and both had a great couple of hours ( and a little bit extra time as Julie didn't usher us out of the door as soon as our time was up!!! ). We were greeted by Julie and given lots of information and top tips from her whilst we both enjoyed a nice coffee and biscuits. The choice of glass colours, styles and quirky pieces were fantastic. The design of the coasters was ours to make. Julie did show us lots of samples that she had previously designed and fused in her kiln, to give us inspiration. Julie was so patient and encouraging. In such a short space of time I really feel as though I have learnt so much. We were very pleased with our two coasters each and left them in Julie's capable hands to fuse in her kiln, after only 2 days I received the message that our coaster were ready to collect. I would highly recommend this workshop, we both feel inspired to learn more..."

Carole H reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"This time: a three day visit continuing my bangle project. As it is inspired by the amazing irises in Lucy's garden, she brought one into the studio for me as a close-up reference. I was suffering with hay fever; fortunately Lucy has an air purifier in the studio that she turned up and it really helped! To round off three instructive and enjoyable days, Lucy showed me a wonderful new book on the history of jewellery: great inspiration for future projects! I have booked my next session in August. Can't wait to return. Thanks Lucy."

Lisa reviewed: Two day leather bag making workshop

"I attended the two day bag making course. I enjoyed every minute. Rosanna is a great teacher with outstanding skills. I left with a bag that was designed from scratch, which I haven't finished showing off yet, and a new hobby. If you are thinking about doing the course... do it! x"

Bobby reviewed: Make a shave horse at Sallerton Wood

"A challenging and rewarding course that I recommend for anyone looking to get involved in green woodwork or for anyone after an alternative weekend in the woods. I've not only come away with lots of new skills and enthusiasm, I've also got a shave horse for my future greenwood endeavours. Andy is a great teacher and ensured that we used only greenwood techniques to make the shave horse. His hospitality is excellent- he provided us with everything from cups of tea and homemade cake (thanks Jane) to sound advice on how to develop our craft. Well worth the six hour drive across the country and I can't wait to return to Sallerton Wood in the near future!"

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thank you very much indeed for that kind review, Bobby. We're delighted that you enjoyed the course so much, and we look forward to your return visit to Sallerton Wood in the near future."

Carole Walker reviewed: Realistic and Adorable Needle Felt Animals & Pets

"I have just got home after a 3 day course with Sophie. The course was great and Sophie a brilliant (and patient) teacher. The other ladies on the course great company and equally obsessed with felt work and wool as I am. It was a treat to spend time with like minded people, learn new techniques and tips and relax away from normal life. The catering on the course was outstanding with Sophie’s mum's pavlova award winning. I hope to make this an annual experience! Thank you Sophie Wheatley you are a wonderful teacher and person ???"

All Things Felt & Beautiful responded:

"Thanks so much Carole - a wonderful fox and lovely company all weekend xx"

Hollie Branson reviewed: Paper Marbling Class Full Day at Portsmouth Museum

"I had such a fun day at James' studio learning Turkish Ebru Art. James explained the different techniques very clearly and was very flexible in what you wanted to achieve from the day. The course length was just the right amount and allowed time for rest breaks. James also allowed my fiancé, who came to watch, to have a go at some of the different techniques which was great. This is something I would love to do again in the future and to learn some more techniques. Thanks James!"

James Mouland Ebru Studio responded:

"Thanks Hollie, you and Sam both did a great job, I hope your future Grand kids enjoy the video archive!"

"I had a wonderful day creating silver jewellery. Charlotte explained everything clearly, and soon had us experimenting with patterns and textures before creating our own designer pieces. I can't believe I came home with such beautiful items that I can proudly tell everyone that I made myself. The setting was relaxed, the company great and the experience fantastic. I would recommend this workshop to anyone."

Josie Aldridge reviewed: Realistic and Adorable Needle Felt Animals & Pets

"I did the 3 day needle felting retreat, to make a model of a tabby cat. I had some needle felting experience & wanted more of a challenge, which a tabby cat proved to be! Sophie was very patient, helpful and encouraging. I always seem to reach a point where I can’t see how to progress the project, but Sophie was a great help at this point, showing and reassuring me that it would turn out ok- and it did. The location was lovely, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend the 3 day workshop for those who really want to “get their teeth into” a more advanced project. You’ll come away with your head filled with all kinds of other projects to make!"

All Things Felt & Beautiful responded:

"Thank you Josie! What a great three days. You should be so proud of your tabby, a great model and so life like - if a little challenging at times. Sophie x"

Vaneza reviewed: Beginners Soap Making Course

"I enjoyed taking Paula's soap making class in her lovely home. She went through all the essential information on how to make cold press soaps from home and including information on the legal compliance for selling your soaps. The class consisted of a small group, which allowed us to ask Paula any questions that we had. The fresh afternoon tea was amazing, tasty sandwiches and scones. I made 8 lovely soaps and since the class I've been twitching to do more. I would definitely recommend this course"

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thank you Vaneza, so glad you enjoyed it. Let me know how you are getting on. Paula"

Gill lewis reviewed: Glass painting with Sarah Lewis, Wolverhampton

"This was a fabulous course! Sarah was so knowledgeable and helpful. Relaxing and informal. What was really nice was the fact it was just a small group. Loads of attention and help for each of us which was great. Thoughtful advice, so gently given, it could merely have been a suggestion. Absolutely fantastic way to spend a few hours and something to take home as a reminder. Totally recommended!!!"

Sarah Lewis Designs responded:

"Thank you very much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you all in my home. The suncatchers you all created were beautiful. They were all your own idea, I just gave you little hints here and there to build your confidence. You should be really proud of your work. I hope to see you all again in the future. Who knows what masterpiece you can create next time! Thanks again Sarah"

Richard Faithfull reviewed: Stained glass leading for beginners

"I did the one day course which was an excellent introduction to stained glass covering the history, design techniques, tools and materials involved. This was done in the relaxed atmosphere of Jamal's workshop where we we received practical experience by being guided through each of the processes involved to finally produce our own individual work-pieces. A thoroughly enjoyable day and a springboard for the extended glass painting workshop and for taking up this craft as a hobby."
