David Greenhalf reviewed: Silver Jewellery Classes (mornings)

"I am a complete novice, when it comes to jewellery making. Katherine was really encouraging and supportive. I really enjoyed my lessons and have made a beautiful bracelet, which Katherine has used in her advertisement for her courses, I was so proud when I saw it. I can't wait to go back to make some matching earrings!"

Fiona reviewed: Felted Soap Workshop in Trowbridge, Wiltshire

"Read the review below from Yassamin first ..... I am the lucky friend who had this as a present. This was one of the most chilled out afternoons I have had in a long time. The whole ambience was perfect you could not sit & learn a craft like this in better surroundings or a more relaxed tutor. We arrived to tea & biscuits, chatted, wondered at the garden ...then got down to the felting. That was just perfect too... two different parts, first the felting where we covered the soaps then the second part was the needle felting where you had a go at bringing out the artistic side of your nature. The best part of that is that if like me it is very lacking then it is quite forgiving. I warned Catherine I was so absorbed I was staying for a minimum of at least 7 hours, but alas that did not happen as we had to leave and get back to 'real life'...... at least we had our soaps to take with us!!"

Dougy Reid reviewed: Introduction to sculpting with Powertex stone art clay

"This class was amazing. Annette is so friendly and welcoming and has a wealth of knowledge. I took my mum for her birthday and she really enjoyed herself in the relaxed and fun atmosphere. Annette was so helpful and lovely we really felt at home. Me and mum were so happy with our sculptures afterwards. We also had a cake for my mum's birthday with candles as well, which was such a thoughtful extra touch that meant a lot to us both. We are hoping to go again. Thanks so much Annette, you are wonderful."

Annette Smyth responded:

"Hi Dougy Thank you so much for your review. I’m so glad you enjoyed the class and your sculptures were brilliant. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Ax"

Fiona Turton reviewed: Flower workshop - how to make flowers for a hat, corsage or to decorate your Christmas table and gifts

"Absolutely first class workshop. Elizabeth is most welcoming and was totally happy to share her expertise and tricks of the trade. The course was relaxed yet inspiring, friendly yet professional .. you couldn’t ask for more or better. Sam (Elizabeth’s assistant) ensured we mastered each element before progressing to the next stage, and was both encouraging and really helpful. She also ensured we all went home with a superb bespoke creation .. Thank you Sam. The salon is within easy walking distance of Knightsbridge tube, and is light and airy .. superb. Light refreshments were offered throughout the day and a super, healthy lunch provided (with Prosecco ?). All in all a fascinating day, a real insight into design, and wonderful to come home with a bespoke flowery creation, and to have learnt a new skill... Thank you Elizabeth .. I’ll be back."

Elizabeth Bessant responded:

"It was lovely to have you as part of the group making it a fun, creative day xxx"

Alma Tumilowicz reviewed: Creative Art as Therapy

"I found the workshop very rewarding. Tajinder is excellent at creating a supportive and creative environment. We were a small group which made for a spacious and peaceful day. I feel this helped me to be less inhibited than I may have been. There are very few artists offering this particular type of workshop so I'm really pleased that Tajinder does! Previously, I have done a lot of photography and printmaking but don't feel confident with paint & pencils. I think the workshop helped me break down a few mental barriers and I will definitely do more workshops with Tajinder."

"Really fun workshop with a very knowledgeable and patient tutor!! The group was small offering lots of time to ask questions and make the most of the time. John Reece reviewed: Willow Piglet workshop

"I had never bent a piece of willow in my life...but by the end of the day I had produced a piglet which has been admired by everyone who has seen it. Mine is called "Willow".... obviously!!! Victoria has a very friendly and relaxed approach while imparting so much information to enable everyone to complete their projects. Tea and coffee constantly supplied during the day. All tools provided and ample space to work, without encroaching upon your neighbour. No time pressures at all. I will certainly be booking another course at the same venue."

Emma Hayward reviewed: Silver jewellery earring workshop with WyeMade

"Well, the smile on our faces once we’d finished said it all; we are absolutely delighted with our earring workshop and what we came away with having made! Ann’s workshop is a delight to be in and very well stocked with both findings and tools, (not to mention copious hacksaw blades, although we didn’t beat the record number of broken blades!) Ann was as hospitable as her well equipped and comfortable workshop. Her down to earth manner helped set us at ease even when we thought we had messed up. Her patience is legendary, persisting with soldering (four times) when our work was being tricky, to ensure we were able to complete and were satisfied with our finished pieces. I cannot thank Ann enough for a joyful afternoon of creation and will proudly wear my bespoke earrings for years (and compliments) to come!"

WyeMade responded:

"Thank you Emma your daisy earrings are stunning and well worth getting all the copper ball soldered on even if it took 4 attempts."

Melissa reviewed: Unique hand made Lampshade making workshop

"I spent a fantastic day with a friend in Max's beautiful workshop. We rummaged through a huge assortment of fabrics and embellishments as well as learning how to screen print. Max has amazing sewing machines that can do stitches beyond anything I've ever seen before! And then we learnt how to put all our hard work with the fabrics into creating a lampshade. Max is knowledgeable and patient and I can't recommend her highly enough. Also cupcakes!"

Adela Webb reviewed: One day fused glass

"I spent a lovely day with Melissa in her cosy glass studio. I learnt how to safely cut glass and how to put together a glass piece ready to be fused. Melissa was was very knowledgeable and her instructions were easy to understand which made me feel at ease. There were plenty of different coloured glass pieces to choose from along with lots of other shiny bits and bobs to use. Best of all I created something I absolutely love and I'm so proud of!! I would absolutely recommend this workshop and I'll definitely be attending more in the future."

Samantha Briscoe reviewed: Beginners Soap Making Course

"I was really looking forward to this course once I booked; it was even better than I could have dreamt. I had a wonderful day and learnt so much. This course stands out, as not only do you make soaps but Paula goes through the whole process from start to finish and more. The course is held in Paula's beautiful house and she is a wonderful host and teacher; so enthusiastic and helpful. The lunch/afternoon tea provided was lovely and homemade (very impressed with the scones!). Paula was very thorough with her teaching of the soap making process so if you want to carry on at home, you can do so safely. She went through the properties of all the oils that can be used and when/how you might want to adjust her recipe. She also covered legislation around product safety, using essential oils, registrations etc. So if you are wanting to sell your own soaps you have a great starting point. Love, love, loved it!"

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thank you Samantha. So happy to read your review, glad you enjoyed it so much!"

Martin reviewed: Leather dog collar and lead workshop

"This is an excellent course in a fantastic setting. Christina is clearly an extremely talented and knowledgeable tutor. I went from somebody who has never sewn a thing and with zero leather craft experience to coming away with what I consider a quality dog lead and collar in a day. All for probably the same it would cost to buy a mass produced one in a shop but with the satisfaction of having made it and picking up a lot of new skills. The facilities provided and the lunch were top quality. I would happily look to book further courses with Christina."

Niki Taylor reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Batik textile workshop in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"I’ve done a few batik workshops prior to Mel’s and I’d say hers comes out with top marks. As someone who is a little terrified of art I found Mel to be an excellent teacher at giving clear step by step instruction and attention to detail using various techniques. Always at hand if you make mistakes. She made the classroom warm and cosy and provides tea and cakes. Mel is a warm, welcoming and attentive teacher and I would highly recommend her classes to anyone. The creations produced in her classes are of a high standard because of that."

"Charlie’s flower crown making workshop was the perfect activity to kick off my hen weekend. Charlie was really friendly and made us all feel comfortable and relaxed in her lovely home, and gave just the right amount of direction whilst also letting us do our own thing and be creative with our crowns. I’d definitely recommend this activity with Charlie!"
