Lyn Oliver reviewed: Upholstery classes at Sandra Fryer's Workshops

"I have gone from complete novice to a commited fan of upholstery. This is due to the patience, coaching and enthusiasm given by Sandra in her welcoming and relaxed courses. Sandra is a very knowledgeable instructor who thankfully puts you immediately at ease and builds your confidence and skill set. The courses are very rewarding, but be aware they are very addictive. I have already completed 3 courses in upholstery and had a great day making lampshades with both my Mum and Sister."

Karen Lee reviewed: Creating shadows and light in your collagraph prints, course in artists studio near York

"I attended Emily's 2 day 'Printing for Pyromaniacs' course and had a great time. Emily was very well organised and had planned the time well, so we got lots done and carried through several techniques. Emily offered individual support and ideas so all three of us were able to develop our own ideas and experiment with variations on using heat and fire to create plates - we even came up with some new approaches. I took away a lot of prints and ideas that I will be able to develop on at home - though I would happily do the course again as it was such fun."

Sarah reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"As a complete beginner I didn’t know what to expect but on arrival Lucy gave me a very warm welcome. The workshop is nestled in her beautiful bird filled garden and I was immediately offered a delicious fresh coffee. I had chosen to make earrings to match a necklace I had -ambitious for a beginner but Lucy was happy to take on the challenge. The whole day was spent expertly guiding me through the different processes in a relaxed and friendly manner with very much a ‘you can do it’ attitude. I loved every minute and ended the day with a pair of beautiful silver earrings. I can highly recommend Lucy Copleston’s workshop and will definitely be rebooking! Sarah Anstey"

Yvonne Martin reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"What a brilliant day! I have never attempted anything like this before and believed I didn’t have a flair for this type of art. Jo was a great instructor and with her step by step guide she explained and showed us the individual processes to achieve a good-looking hare! The modern studio we worked in was lovely, bright and airy with beautiful views overlooking the garden and fields. A great day out whereby you can use your creative talents or in my case, learn a new skill."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thanks Yvonne! So glad you enjoyed the day and loved your very own masterpiece ;-) Very pleased you like my new studio - I'm as proud as punch with it and so lucky to have such a beautiful space to be creative in."

Lesley Ainsworth reviewed: One day atmospheric landscape oil painting course aboard the narrowboat Peewit with Melanie Max

"Melanie is an excellent tutor, patient, clear and concise. It was a great environment and enjoyable from start to finish. Her work is inspirational and it was lovely to watch her produce a beautiful piece whilst explaining how colours mix, perspective and light work. The use of a fan brush was a revelation! I learnt so much, was very pleased with my completed pieces and had the bonus of keeping her example. It was so worth the distance I travelled and would highly recommend the day."

Margaret Rhodes reviewed: One day leather bag making workshop

"What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday! I had never worked with leather before but with Rosanna’s superb teaching and guidance I completed a cross body, two tone, fully lined bag that I am thrilled with and my friends are amazed at. I also got to use an industrial sewing machine, which seemed scary at first but we soon made friends! You are amazing Rosanna and I can wait to come back for a 2-day experience soon - that’s if you can put up with me again haha."

Penny Barker reviewed: Upholstery skills - from basic to advanced, traditional and modern styles

"I love attending the upholstery course and have been a regular attendee for 2 years at this venue. The facilities are great and the tutition is excellent. We learn and share from each other as well as from Jan and Angela. Their style of tution is very supportive and helps me to learn how to do things for myself, gaining confidence in my own skills and ensuring that I develop. It is a fun class and I enjoy the opportunity to make new friends and look forward to seeing them each week as well as us all sharing the progress of our projects. I would recommend this course as you will learn loads of new skills and take home a beautifully refurbished piece of furniture."

Hannah reviewed: Natural Dyeing & Eco-printing, Highlands, Scotland

"I thoroughly enjoyed myself whilst on a weekend workshop learning about eco printing. I have some experience with textiles and was impressed with the amount of knowledge Rosie has in regards to textiles, dyeing process, as well the history surrounding dyes and materials. Rosie is a great teacher who is extremely accommodating, helpful and approachable. She was keen for us to explore and try out a variety of methods over the course of the weekend. She took on board our interests and adapted the techniques we were covering to allow us the options to explore these interests showing the depth of her knowledge and ability as a textile artist. I would and am already considering doing another course. Great value for money with lots fitted in, not to mention the amazing home made food offered by Rosie and her family. A really welcoming and relaxed environment with great people - thank you!"

Wild Rose Escapes responded:

"I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with us Hannah- I'm sure you are going to go on and print many more beautiful pieces. Yours Rosie"

Tamsin reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"A wonderful, relaxing and fun way to spend a weekend! The setting in the Devon countryside is beautiful and Peters' workshop is amazing. Each stage of the project was broken down into easy to understand steps, and instruction from Peter and Lulu was clear and patient. They instill a confidence in using both hand and power tools that I didn't think I had. Everyone took home a beautiful piece of furniture at the end of the 2 days, and and alot of new skills. It has made me want to do lots more green woodworking and I will certainly be back for more of Peter's courses! I couldn't recommend it more!"
