Roslyn Williams reviewed: Absolute beginners beaded jewellery workshop

"I love this CraftCourses website & I am so happy I found Scarlet, she is our new addiction. My friend & I first came to make a beaded bracelet, neither of us having any crafting experience at all. She was so patient with us, changing our minds many times trying to choose what beads to use; there are so many beads it is like being a kid in a sweet shop. We absolutely loved this workshop, so much fun, after we made our bracelet I booked her a few weeks later & I had her come to my house to do a fairy making party. Omg! you really have to do this, I have never seen anything like this before, there were 12 of us & it was an amazing day & 100% recommended. Because Scarlet is so good at explaining & patient I now have the confidence to try her silver clay class so will definitely be booking that workshop soon, thank you, we can't wait."

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review Roslyn, it was a pleasure. The bracelets you made were lovely and If you come to the Silver Clay Workshop I know you will really enjoy it. You are more creative than you realise. I look forward to seeing you soon. Sx"

Roslyn Williams reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"I had a fairy making workshop party at my house which was wonderful as one of my friends is in a wheel chair & it's hard for her to travel. There were 12 of us women, & I must say it was so much fun, the amount & choice of materials was unbelievable & we all made something different Scarlet was just lovely & was very patient with us gaggle of girls; we were not rushed & she extended our workshop so we could make more fairies. We happily paid the extra for her time & it was well worth it. We really can't wait to have Scarlet's fairy folk back to my house again for her Christmas fairy workshop, thank you so much. I have also done a bracelet workshop with another friend, again the choice of beads etc was just awesome & we both made a lovely bracelet each."

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Thank you for your review Roslyn. I really enjoy the Fairy Making Parties too and yours was lovely. Its great to see a group of women become like little girls again and having fun together, it was a good laugh and crafting really is good for the soul. I will be adding dates soon for the Christmas Fairy Workshops. Sx"

Alice Grundy reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"I spent a wonderful day in the company of a wise and generous tutor making something beautiful out of my jumbled ideas and without any previous experience! The best Tuesday I have spent in a long while. Bridget's warm welcome to her studio, her reassurance that I would not leave without my masterpeice was reassuring; from refining my ideas to handling the piece from start to finish. Every step from the cutting, annealling, filing, rolling, beating, soldering, polishing- " you see, you do" under safe guidance with wonderful explanations and anecdotes. A joy to spend time with such creativity and skill rolled into one very fine silversmith who has captured the imagination and enthusiam of an absolute novice. I wore my piece home, it is a special tresaure and this was the most wonderful day with a remarkable lady- I loved it enough to plan to bring a friend next time- you won't want to leave it at just one day- Fabulous experience and thank you."

Paul Fricker reviewed: Make a shave horse at Sallerton Wood

"As a fully qualified Engineer and Trainer for more years than I care to mention, I am only too aware that the most difficult candidates to teach are trainers. I can honestly say without reservation that this course of making a shave horse is the best experience I have ever had on any course. I came as a complete novice. The skills of teaching and instruction given by Andy, enabled me in just two days to learn so many new skills and techniques, which ultimately led to completing a shave horse of my own. The sense of achievement is an experience that will last a lifetime. The location, atmosphere, and hospitality were all first class and topped off by some home baked cooking supplied by Jane. It might be a cliche but genuinely nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Andy and Jane. Kindest Regards Paul."

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thanks very much indeed for your kind review, Paul. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed and appreciated the course so much, and Jane's cake too! We hope to see you back at Sallerton Wood before too long."

Lily Russell reviewed: Relax, stretch, and release tension with a small group, in the woods

"A unique and special day in the ancient woodland. Wonderfully energising, and refreshing. The experience is still with me, and has been transforming my 'regular' journeys- as I cycle to work, walk into the village, or wait for the train. My senses still feel awakened by my amazing day in the woodland with Kathy, Phil and the other forest bathers."

Deborah reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"Catherine’s soap making workshop represents excellent value for money!! My daughter and I came away with x2 batches of soap each, using high quality ingredients and essential oils. I came with an idea for soap and Catherine helped me calculate, produce, and achieve my goal. The choice of ingredients, various clays, butters and oils etc were excellent, everyone was able to make their own unique soaps and blends. Everyone had their own work station with all the necessary equipment and could work independently or with guidance. From the moment we arrived and stepped into the studio, we were warmly welcomed and Catherine is a wonderful hostess! Nothing is too much trouble. A beautiful tranquil setting, a must for anyone needing time out to relax and recharge. I will be booking again, and again.... Thank you Catherine!"

Jo Butterworth reviewed: Sea Glass Jewellery at Cowshed Creative, the Lake District

"The location of Cowshed Creative is beautiful and the venue is roomy & homely. George is an attentive host - providing a good selection of drinks and delicious food (all homemade by the looks of it). We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived until the workshop ended. The course was great too; we learnt so much in a day and all came away with some beautiful jewellery. The only improvement I can suggest would be to make it a two day workshop, so that you could make more items and perfect the various techniques we learnt!!"

Cowshed Creative responded:

"Many thanks Jo for your lovely comments and helpful feedback. Will definitely look into the possibility of a 2 day workshop next year."

Laura reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"We had a great day with Jamal last week. He was super informative & made the whole thing really wonderful. He gave us a detailed history of Stained Glass in the UK & how a giant window is made from start to finish. We were then walked through all the tools & equipment needed and then walked us through our own piece. We all love our final products & the course has given us more confidence in giving it a go at home. His knowledge is expansive & makes for a great tutor! Would highly recommend!"

Larisa reviewed: Make nipple tassels & bubbly in Brighton

"The experience with Charlotte was a unique one, friendly and very welcoming. Myself and my friends had the greatest of time with creating our own personalised shapes but under the gentile supervision of Charlotte. Champagne, home made sweets and a lot of mutual exchanges of stories made the class and experience to be truly enjoyable, kind and genuine. I recommend you do this class and undoubtedly you will not regret it. You will have a blast!! :)"

Sue Astbury reviewed: Abstract Landscape with Award Winning Artist Catherine MacDiarmid at Cowshed Creative in the Lake District

"Really enjoyed this course. Catherine was a great tutor, providing lots of guidance and encouragement. The venue was a lovely building, good location, but a little cramped for the activities. Food provided was generous and very tasty. Overall good value for money."

Cowshed Creative responded:

"Thanks Sue for such positive feedback. You are right, we will definitely increase the table space for painting activities next time and provide some easels. Hope to see you again."

Ian Wilson reviewed: Make a shave horse at Sallerton Wood

"Just spent a couple of very enjoyable days at Sallerton Wood making a shave horse. The wood is a lovely place to work, the framed buildings are an inspiration as well as being very in keeping with the whole weekend. The workshop is well equipped and the pace just right - getting on with it without feeling rushed. Andy is a knowledgeable and sympathetic teacher who helps you when you need help and lets you get on with it once you've got the hang of it. As others have mentioned tea facilities and cake are excellent and the camping was very relaxing of an evening. Learning green woodwork in an idyllic setting is an absolute pleasure so I'm looking forward to booking up the six day chair making course soon! In the mean time I'm off to start using my new shavehorse"

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Than you very much indeed for posting your enthusiastic review, Ian. We're very pleased that you enjoyed the course and environment at Sallerton Wood, and we look forward to welcoming you back there for a Chair-making course. Enjoy using your new shave horse in the meantime!"

Joanna Kin reviewed: Beginners Soap Making Course

"I really enjoyed the soap making course. It was very informative and professional and at the same time Paula is very warm and welcoming lady. We were treated to a home made afternoon tea while Paula was still teaching us. I am now confident that I can make my own soap with the knowledge I have gained. Before the course I have watched many YouTube videos but I can honestly say that without the course I wouldn’t have a clue what to do. To anybody who is hesitating - go on book a course I highly recommend it! Thank you so much Paula."

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thank you Joanna, it was a great pleasure teaching you. Good luck in your soap making journey."
