Snow Robins Freehand Machine work with Fran Brammer

Description

Combining simple paint and stitch, these fun litlle birds are full of character. Do them individually to make into cards, or in a line for a runner, or even in a pyramid to make a table centre or hanging. All you need to bring is a sewing machine with a freemotion quilting/embroidery/darning foot, threads and a heat erasable marker pen or pencil. Suitable for all competent sew-ers.

All basic materials. Tea and coffee, in our peaceful settting just outside York. Friendly and informal instruction.

"My daughter and I had a lovely time on the quilting course. Lots of tea and guidance in sewing the pieces together. Daughter forgot to bring the pedal for her machine, no problem a substitute machine was available. Instructor was very attentive and gave us a lot of help with all aspects of choosing the materials, measuring, cutting and putting together. All in all a fun day."

"Back again! This time to make a toile. I am making a jacket which I have put off for years after having some doubts about my abilities. Here was the opportunity to really learn a few new things. However, a great deal of time and patience was required of the tutor. I certainly got that in spades. Anyway, I've been guided along and now feel yes, I think this is actually going to work out. I will definitely be back if only to get help with the pockets!"

"A really good positive experience. Working alone has its difficulties when worried about the actual pattern, what sort of interfacing is needed, where to alter the darts, will this material suit the pattern, body shape etc. These queries can be answered here as you go along, so you can correct, alter and complete without throwing the garment in the corner! Plus, lets face it, its nice to have confirmation of 'so I was right then?' Wow! I have booked another course. "
