Free Motion Machine Embroidery Flowers and Leaves in the Lake District
Description
During this afternoon workshop, you will learn how to create these beautiful flowers and leaves using free motion embroidery and soluble fabric. The workshop is suitable for those with or without some experience with free motion embroidery. Using soluble stabiliser your tutor, Molly, will show you three different techniques to make the leaves and flowers. The different techniques vary in difficulty, so there is something suitable for those new to free motion, and something to challenge those with experience. It will then be up to you to choose which level to try out. The workshop will take place in our beautiful converted barn on our Lakeland hill farm near Kendal, Cumbria. The stunning views from the large window may be a slight distraction but the peace and tranquillity of the setting make it a great place to learn a new skill. After 35 years as an Occupational Therapist working for the NHS, Molly changed direction to focus on teaching skills to others, and working on her own projects. She has had a lifelong interest in knitting, sewing, textiles and techniques to embellish fabrics. She is an experienced tutor offering tuition at a wide range of venues.
What's included in the price?
Please note that you will need to bring your own sewing machine with an embroidery foot. You must be able to lower the feed dogs on the machine, and be familiar with your machine. There is a materials charge of £5 per person, payable direct to your tutor. Refreshments of tea/coffee and cake will be available during the afternoon. Special dietary needs will be catered for if notified in advance.

We have parking near the Barn and in our farmyard. If you need to be near to the Barn, please let us know in advance and we can reserve you a place.
We do not offer accommodation at Hare Hill Barn, but being in the Lake District there are numerous places to stay locally to suit all budgets. If you would like some assistance in finding somewhere to stay, please get in touch.
