Pewter Christmas Decorations Making at Manchester Craft and Design Centre

Kickstart your festive period with Ella on a 3 hour pewter Christmas decoration making workshop. During this workshop Ella will guide you through the process of adding texture and pattern to sheet pewter, a lead free metal. We will use textures and Christmas themed images to imprint on the pewter using a traditional metalwork tool called a rolling mill. We will then use hammers and piercing tools to shape your Christmas decoration and letter punches to add personalised details before polishing so you can proudly hang on your tree or wrap it as a handmade gift. Suitable for beginners or those with previous silver or jewellery experience.

What's included in the price?

During this workshop Ella will provide all tools, materials and metal. If you do have any interesting textures (less than 5mm thick such as lace, dried foliage or paper stencils work well), ideas or print outs of design ideas please do bring them along, the more the merrier. However, if you don't have anything to bring don't worry, Ella will have lots of inspiration on the day. Teas, coffees and biscuits provided throughout the workshop. Manchester Craft and Design Centre is open to public with 20 craft studios. Please feel free to allow time before/after the workshop to browse the centre or enjoy lunch at our onsite cafe.
