Pewter Casting - Make a Pendant or Keyring
Description
Make your own pewter pendant or keyring, no experience necessary, Fleur will guide you through the process step by step. Using the traditional pewter cuttlefish casting technique you will carve your design into a cuttlefish bone. This will then be used as a mould to pour the molten pewter into. Finally you will clean up your casting and make it into a pendant or keyring ready to use. At the end of the workshop you will have 2-3 pieces to take home and use. You may want to wear old clothes as it can be dusty working with the cuttlefish and pewter. For safety purposes please wear a long sleeve top and no open shoes when pouring the molten pewter. Contact Fleur via the 'message the tutor' button if you would like to make a private group booking for a date of your choice, with 4-6 people on an alternative date. Fleur can do these on either a weekend or a week day. TUTOR: Fleur has worked with pewter for 30 years, designing and making her pewter homeware and sculptures alongside running workshops. She is also the author of Pewter Design & Techniques published by Crowood Press, so has experience in a variety of pewter techniques to share.
