Jesmonite Casting - Beginner - 1 Day - 2 People
Description
Jesmonite is an eco, resin style product that allows you to produce opaque, stone like designs that can be de-moulded in 15-30 minutes. Because it is such an immediate process you can explore lots of different moulds and techniques during the workshop. Jesmonite is very versatile allowing you to use a variety of colours, styles and finishes. You'll learn to mix the right consistency, use moulds effectively, make your own small scale moulds, create different effects and produce quality finishes. With expert tuition this workshop is suitable for anyone. You will leave with at wide variety of pieces with different techniques, finishes and styles. Once you've had the whole day to explore this accessible process you are just a couple of bits of kit away from setting up at home. I always take individual bookings for my workshops so that I can tailor the workshop to the group’s interests and needs. This workshop is for 2 people. Please see the One to One listing for a 1 person booking. Further discounts may be available for larger groups (please message me with your specific needs and I will create a bespoke listing for you). All courses, workshops and kits come with free support afterwards. Email me or arrange a video call. I love to see what my students and fellow crafters are up to and really enjoy answering questions or helping if I can. So any booking isn’t just for the day it’s the start of a crafting friendship! I do my very best to keep all my listings up to date with availability. Unfortunately, at busy periods there can be a delay so if there is a specific date you need, please feel free to check before booking to avoid disappointment.

Maker
Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely a 2 way street!

I only take individual bookings so there will only be the people you choose to book for! This means I can make sure the workshop is exactly what individuals and groups want and everyone gets more out of it.
I normally start at 0930hrs but as I only take individual bookings I can be flexible with timings (subject to availability) to suit you.
No need to bring anything with you for your course or workshop unless you want to bring examples or inspiration ... but there are plenty of both here in the studio (surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills) so you can just bring your lovely self!
There is a cute retro caravan that sleeps 1-2 people available onsite (The Old School Campsite) free of charge for 'one to one' bookings (subject to availability). There are also glamping bell tents in the summer and camping pitches available onsite. If camping isn't for you (!) there are lovely holiday cottages at 'Shelve Holidays' or a luxury cabin at 'Heather and Stone'.
