Description

On this two day course you will be guided through the whole process to make your own Pole Lathe to take home with you. This course will be running from our new indoor green woodworking workshop next to the beautiful Kennett & Avon Canal at Brimslade just outside Marlborough. On this two day course you will be guided step by step through the whole process of making your own Pole Lathe to take home with you. The Pole Lathe that you make is based on the one made by Mike Abbott in his Book Green Woodwork (working with wood the natural way). You will make your own Pole Lathe from a mixture of hard and soft woods, The A-Frame legs are made from treated planed easy edge timber, and the body, heads and wedges are made from hardwood. The assembly process will involve some sawing and drilling of the timber before you assemble it using screws, nuts and bolts. No previous woodwork experience necessary. This course will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day at our Marlborough site.
