Join us for an immersive experience in the art of longbow making, set amidst the beauty of an ancient woodland. Join us in the woodland workshop for a one-to-one woodworking class. Under expert guidance spend the day delving into the rich tradition of crafting your very own longbow. Harness the power of age-old techniques as you shape raw ash wood into a formidable longbow. Discover the secrets of selecting the perfect ash stave while becoming proficient in the use of traditional hand tools such as the draw knife and carving axe as you work the bow stave into shape. The afternoon will be spent fine tuning the bow, a process known as tillering the bow for optimal performance and durability. This course will be held under a large shelter but please come dressed for the weather as we will be outdoors for the whole day. No previous experience required.
