Full day introductory knifemaking course
Description
Learn the basics of blacksmithing in this hands-on introductory course. This course is tailored to introduce you to both blacksmithing techniques and the basics of knifemaking. You will be given an introduction to safety and use of the coke forges and tools, and then learn the basics of fire management and heating, then Matt will demonstrate and guide you on your own forge and anvil step by step on how to forge a piece of spring steel into your very own blacksmith's knife, which we will harden and temper, after which it is ready for you to take home and enjoy! All tools and materials will be provided, please wear suitable clothing if you don't mind getting dirty or marked. Cotton clothing is ideal like jeans and shirts, please don't wear acrylic or nylon clothing. What's included in the price?
