Learn the basics of blacksmithing in this hands-on introductory course. This course is tailored to get introduced to both blacksmithing techniques and basics of knifemaking, you will be given an introduction into safety and use of the coke forges and tools, and then learn the basics of fire managent and heating , then Matt will demostrate and guide you on your own forge and anvil step by step into how to forge a piece of spring steel into your very own blacksmith's knife to take home and enjoy! All tools and materials will be provided, please wear suitable clothing you dont mind getting dirty or marked. Cotton clothing is ideal like jeans and cotton shirt, please dont wear acrylic or nylon clothing. Refreshments of Tea and coffee are provided but you are advised to bring a lunch with you, or a take out can be arranged from the local pub.
