Learn some essential sewing skills as we explore the art of cushion making and create something unique and special for your home. You will learn: - How to set up your sewing machine - and some trouble shooting - How to understand the different qualities of fabric - How to sew and finish seams neatly - How to insert a concealed zip Once you have learned the techniques to make your first cushion, you will have the opportunity to make a second cushion cover to hone your new skills. If you would like to chose your own fabric, please bring half a metre for your cushion. A medium weight cotton or linen are easiest to work with and appropriate for this project. Please avoid velvet or any fabric with a nap. Our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland. Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself. Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. "This was such a lovely class.
