Collage Ceramics & Mosaic - 2 Day Course

X

Description

Come and join ceramic artist Alison Waters and mosaic artist Tracey Cartledge for an exciting new course over two full days at Grit Studios. Session 1 – Saturday 1st March 10-4 The first workshop day will be spent creating collages and producing handmade clay tiles. Enjoy experimenting in a relaxing, friendly creative environment with like-minded people. For your collage, consider bringing with you photos, old letters, magazine or news cuttings etc. You might be thinking of celebrating somebody or something special or significant to you with the items that you select. We’ll also have materials available for you to choose from. After the session, transfers will be produced of your collage work (by a specialist supplier) and then applied to your tiles by us prior to firing in the kiln at Grit Studios so that they are ready for you to use in session 2. Session 2 – Saturday 22nd March 10-4 Create a composition using your fired ceramic collage tiles together with your selection of mosaic materials from a wide range available in Tracey’s mosaic studio. You can also bring your own treasures to include in your piece e.g. broken crockery, beads, jewellery, coins, tokens, pebbles etc. This double workshop opens up a wealth of possibilities and a great opportunity for creative experimentation. Both artists will be on hand at each session to offer guidance and advice.
