4h mosaic workshop for beginners

Description

This mosaic workshop with Marie-Paule is a fun and creative afternoon where you will learn how to make your own mosaic from scratch to a beautiful finish. You will design and transfer your mosaic idea onto a subjectile such as a slate, a wooden board, a coaster, a flower pot, and learn how to cut and fix the tesserae following basic mosaic rules. Instructions will be provided throughout, in a relaxed and easy way, and you will learn a lot while having a great time. Your mosaic will then be grouted and finished, ready to take home. Alternatively, you will be taught how to grout and will take a grouting kit home with you.

What's included in the price?

All the materials and equipment and protective eyewear and clothing are provided. There will be tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits. Please bring your own if you have particular dietary requirements. Allergy sufferers please note that there are 2 friendly dogs and a cat living here.

Marie-Paule worked for 30 years as a technical translator before taking a leap into the mosaic world. She is now a professional mosaicist using glass, stained glass, marble and smalti, as well as recycled materials to create colourful and vibrant mosaics. She offers small group workshops in a convivial and friendly atmosphere in her home. Single or multiple group sessions, one to one tuition on request.

"I can't recommend this workshop enough! Firstly its amazing value for what you get. No fannying around, it's 4 hours creating your masterpiece, an incredible selection of mosaic materials and all the tools, help and guidance you need. We were even offered tea, coffee, wine and the most delicious cake 😋 Secondly me and my friend were even offered extra time (for no extra money) to finish our mosaics which was unbelievably kind. Thirdly the set up is great. The session is in Marie-Paule's house where you are surrounded by her amazing creations. She is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel right at home. She also has 2 gorgeous dogs who were incredibly calm and well behaved ❤️ Finally we absolutely loved the outcome of our mosaics! It's very rare you come out of these beginner workshops with something you truly love, and it was all down to Marie-Paule's help and guidance :) Thank you Marie-Paule! We'll be coming back!"

"It was the loveliest craft course I’ve ever done! Marie-Paul was really kind and explained everything in a way that made it easy to understand even if it was my first time doing mosaic. We got to pick between a big selection of things we could do, or if we had an idea before coming she helped us adapt it so we could finish in time. I covered a flower pot with mosaic but others chose a wooden canvas, or there was also a mirror. The tools were easy to use and the tiles absolutely gorgeous and every colour was available. She helped us when we got a little short on time to make sure we could finish in time and take our mosaic home. 12/10 will come back again!! "
