Half Day Copper Foil Workshop For Beginners
Description
This is a beginners half day class in which you will learn the basics of copper foil technique and go home with your own stained glass sun-catcher you made yourself! The workshop includes basic instruction on how to design and structure your piece, create a pattern and template, cut glass, use a diamond grinder, apply and burnish copper foil, assemble and solder the pieces together and add a hook to properly hang your completed piece. You will also get to select from a selection of coloured glass to make you decorative piece, which many consider the best part of the experience! Copper foil is a great introduction to the art of Stained Glass. *Even though I am happy to help and give assistance on my courses to people of all abilities, it is a difficult craft needing a great deal of dexterity. The processes involved require a certain amount of strength and control. Standing at times may also be required. Proper safety precautions will be taught alongside each step and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided along with all materials. No previous copper foil glass experience is necessary. A maximum of 3 participants may attend a workshop. Please note: We are unable to accept a booking If pregnant due to health and safety. We have a no smoking policy onsite.
