"I had a fantastic day at Westcountry Creative with Jo. I came away with a pair of earrings, a pendant and a brooch. Having only worked with Sterling Silver in sheet and wire form, I wanted to learn more about how these materials work and how I could use and adapt them into possible creations in the future. Her workshop is set in lovely surroundings and was very easy to find. Jo was very patient and explained things clearly and was very happy to give hints and tips which we could use at home. There are a lot of Silver Clay courses on offer, some of which are closer to where I live, but this was the only one I found that gave you the opportunity to try both Polymer Clay and Silver Clay in the same day. Another factor as to why I booked this course was that I felt it was important to like the work shown on her website. I've come across other courses which showed the work to be chunky and heavy looking and I wanted to create something more delicate, which is what Jo produces. My journey with these materials has only just begun and I'm sure this won't be the only course I book with Jo. Hope to see you again soon."

"Jo and I discussed how much experience I had of working with Polymer Clay. Taking this into account she tailored my session to meet the skills I already had and to extend them further. Jo's calm, easy going manner made learning a relaxing experience even though we got through several processes. I learned new skills in working with colour, texture and we used clay I hadn't used before that enhanced my results. I came away with my head buzzing with what I had learned and I have already put some of that learning in to practice with very satisfactory results. I have another course booked with Jo already. I would encourage anyone thinking of having a go at this course to give it a try, whether you have previous experience using Polymer Clay or not."

"This was my second visit along with my friend to one of Jo's workshops. My last one was silver polymer clay this one was creating polymer clay Mokume Gane beads. I was absolutely thrilled with the outcome. I managed to get a necklace, pendant, a smaller pendant and various stud earrings. Jo is exceptionally helpful and makes sure your work is finished to a high standard. Our next course already booked for the Best of Both. There were 4 of us in the group which is ideal for having one on one tuition but also having other creative people to bounce ideas around. Jo encouraged us to design our own pieces which makes it even more satisfying to see your finished jewellery. I wholeheartedly recommend this course although I would warn you - you will get hooked and want more!"

"I spent a brilliant day with Jo in her beautiful studio. She is an excellent intuitive teacher and lets you explore your own creativity. The small friendly group size of four meant we had lots of one to one tuition and we were also able to bounce ideas off each other. We all had very different ideas of what we wanted to produce, and under Jo’s careful guidance it was all achieved. Jo’s work is on display and is inspirational. She has an amazing array of equipment for use if needed. I am very chuffed with the pendant and earrings, I produced, and look forward to taking more courses."

"I had a wonderful day with Jo at West Country Creative, and came away with 2 beautiful silver leaf pendants and a polymer clay pendant, which could be worn on its own or with one of the pendants. Jo is an inspiring teacher, full of creative ideas as to how to get the best piece of jewellery possible to take home. She explains all the processes very clearly, but is also very relaxed. The studio is very light and in a very peaceful setting, but very easy to get to from the nearby A30. I would recommend this course very highly, and it was well worth the 4 hour trip from my home. It was my second course and it won't be the last."

"This is an excellent one day course. Jo is a very good and patient teacher. I made several items of jewellery (I surprised myself by actually finishing them all before the end of the day!) and they are extremely pretty. There was one other person present in this particular class and we were both surprised at just how different our jewellery turned out. I would recommend this course to anyone, you do not need any previous experience in polymer clay or jewellery making to create lovely items."

"There were just two of us on this course, so it was almost one-to-one tuition! The studio is pretty new and very nice, warm, pleasant views out the window of passing pheasants, squirrels and a rabbit posing and eating a dandelion. When it came to the crafting itself, we both made rather a lot of finished items (necklaces, earrings, cufflinks) and what was most impressive was that despite using the same basic materials and identical techniques we ended up making items completely different in appearance to one another. Jo was very helpful in teaching us (and keeping us supplied with tea) and I would thoroughly recommend this course."
