Bekki reviewed: Upholstery for Beginners Workshop - Make a Footstool in Preston

"Another 5⭐️ experience with Jo! After thoroughly enjoying a furniture painting workshop, I booked on to the upholstery workshop and what a fantastic day it was. Lovely group of people to share the experience with and under the instruction of the fabulous Jo, we managed to make a pile of raw materials into gorgeous footstools. Jo made what I thought was going to be a really complex art of upholstery into a clear and understandable process. With handy tips at each stage, and a set of notes to take home, the workshop was delivered at a good pace. Really enjoyed the day, so much so that I've told everyone I know they will be getting a footstool for Christmas now!! Thanks to Jo for leading us in a great workshop and Jo's Mum for some scrumptious cakes. The lemon cupcakes were particularly lush. Thanks, Jo and Mum xx"

The Boho Shed responded:

Janet Fearn reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (Levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Cheadle Gr Manchester

"Very comprehensive course with lots of information about products and techniques which was backed up with take away notes which was brilliant as I could concentrate on what Jo was saying rather than be scribbling away making my own notes. Jo kept the day flowing at a comfortable pace and once we started painting our own pieces moved evenly through the group offering guidance and advice whilst allowing for individual creativity. I was extremely pleased with the small table I painted, it looks fabulous! The Cheadle venue is in a lovely tucked away quaint location with plenty of free parking. The home baked treats were a delicious bonus :)"

The Boho Shed responded:

"What a lovely review Janet, thank you so much. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the day. You made such a gorgeous job of your table, I loved it! I hope you enjoy your new found hobby and I'm sure you will create some amazing pieces ongoing. x"

Eve reviewed: Upholstery for Beginners Workshop - Make a Footstool in Preston

"Great one day introductory course. I learnt so many small things which, when put together, have made other projects so much more professional looking. I would have preferred to make a much larger footstool, however, my four year old granddaughter loves the one I made and has put it in her ‘den’. The course leader was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to help and answer any questions. I would be happy to do further courses with her. Thank you Jo!"

The Boho Shed responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Eve. I’m pleased you got so much from the course and now feel your work is now more professional. In order for the course to work, everyone needs to do the same size stool but now you have the skills to make any size you wish. I look forward to seeing your lovely future creations. Many thanks again for your kind words. 🙏😊"

Bekki reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Preston, Lancashire

"This weekend I spent the most relaxing and productive day I've had in a long time, while attending an Upcycling Workshop with Jo (The Boho Shed). Jo is such a fantastic tutor, her passion and knowledge really shines through as she runs through lots of lovely techniques and top tips for upcycling pieces of furniture, picture frames etc. it is super easy to really immerse yourself into workshop. There was a choice of refreshments on arrival, I chose a lovely refreshing peppermint tea and of course, freshly made and dressed scones with cream and jam......and fresh raspberries. Such a lovely touch to create a really welcoming and comfortable environment. During the morning we learnt about all the different techniques, then Jo took the time to understand each of our visions for our pieces of furniture, then after lunch we were let loose on being creative - in which I completely lost track of time and just enjoyed the creative process. Saturday was in fact Earth Hour day, where the environmental/sustainable message is to spend an hour doing a sustainable activity - what better than taking a tired piece of furniture and giving it new lease of energy. Thanks, Jo, for such a relaxing and creative workshop; really looking forward to the upholstery workshop next! 🥰"

The Boho Shed responded:

"Lovely Bekki, what can I say! Thank you so very much for your gorgeous review and very kind words. I'm absolutely delighted you enjoyed the workshop so much and your Dad would have been very proud of you for restoring his precious piece of furniture. I love it that you were lost in creativity. What a great day we had. I look forward to seeing you again next month at the upholstery workshop. Until then....x"

Not only did I gain the skills to ‘confidently’ have a go at my bedding box, but I also had such a great time. The whole day was relaxed, friendly and fun. "I just wanted everyone to know, I had a wonderful day on Friday, on the BoHoShed Footstool Upholstery Workshop at Preston. Jo was a wonderful tutor. The other ladies on the course were fantastic to learn and work with. We all left the course, with delightful, beautiful foot stools. The day was so informative and easy to follow. Jo was attentive to each of us, showing and encouraging us all at every step of the way. The little tips and tricks, taught throughout the day were great and will be helpful in doing more projects at home. Jo is an endless source of information ,which she gave freely throughout the day, which will be very useful in the coming months. If you are thinking of booking onto the course, I encourage you to do so immediately, you will love it. Jo, thank you for making the day so productive and informative, allowing us to create such master pieces. PS. The cakes made by Jo's mum were delicious and an added bonus."

Majed Aggad (MJ) reviewed: Upholstery for Beginners Workshop - Make a Footstool in Cheadle

"The Beginners Upholstery Workshop is an absolute must for anyone looking to learn the art of upholstery or even just curious about it. From the moment I signed up for the class, I knew I was in for a treat. Jo, our fantastic instructor, guided us through the materials and tools needed, as well as every step of the process. It was such a pleasure to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who were equally passionate about upholstery, whether they pursued it professionally or as a hobby. Jo also gave us really useful tips and trade knowledge on how to tackle our own projects. But let me tell you, the best part was being able to walk away with a beautiful footstool that I proudly gifted to a friend. The workshop not only provided me with valuable skills but also an amazing piece of furniture that will be cherished for years to come. Thank you Jo for an unforgettable experience! Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to Jo's mum for those amazing cakes and scones! They were AMAZING! "

The Boho Shed responded:

"MJ, thank you so very much for your amazing review. You were an absolute pleasure to teach and you made such a lovely job of your stool. Thank you so much for your help setting up and packing up, you’re so kind, particularly with a bad back! Mum is really grateful for your appreciation of her cakes. 🙏💕"
