"This was a delightful morning spent learning a new craft. All the materials were provided, with printed resources to take home for reference or practice. Elspeth had a vast wealth of experience to share with us, and she delivered it with warmth and humour (not to mention cakes and coffee). The small group size meant that we got great individual support....and we found it hard to drag ourselves away. The 'hotline' for assistance is a very generous offer too! Give it a go........throughly recommended, and good value for money."

"My friend and I had a wonderful morning in in Elspeths's warm and welcoming kitchen. Good company, lovely tea and biscuits and a new craft learnt. Elspeth gave us clear and expert tuition in the different kinds of rag rugging and after a short practice provided all the materials needed to create a ragged masterpiece. We all made a good start on our chosen piece and Elspeth was happy to provide help if we hit problems finishing our item at home. thanks a lot for a lovely morning and a new craft."

"I can't think of a better way I could have spent that grey, rainy Saturday morning - Elspeth has a great passion for this craft and clearly knows her stuff, she was very generous with her knowledge, tips and advice and also tea, coffee and biscuits! I thought the course was very good value as all materials were included and you could take enough home with you to finish your chosen project. If you think rag rugging could be your thing, this is the best place to start."

"As a novice craft worker I was slightly apprehensive about tackling rag rug making. But the moment I was welcomed by Elizabeth and the other students into her lovely home my fears disappeared . The 2.5 hours flew by with precise teaching and gentle guidance , lots of cups of tea and biscuits and good company. We were given a great range of options ,materials and ideas and so began our journey! A wonderful start to a new hobby ."

"Myself and a friend attended the beginners workshop on November 14th. We learnt how to deconstruct clothes to make the right sort of strips for ragging, how to select and prepare different grades of hessian backing, and then tried out two sorts of ragging - the looped kind and the shaggy kind. After that we had a bit of a practice and then had the run of wonderful boxes filled with all sorts of coloured materials to begin to create our own project. The hardest part was trying to decide what to make from a cushion cover, a Christmas wreath, a pot stand or a letter of the alphabet. We were supplied generously with various teas or coffee and biscuits whilst we worked and the atmosphere with a small group was really lovely. The two and a half hours just zipped past and we all left with the materials and knowledge to complete the work at home. Elspeth was a very enthusiastic teacher, very approachable and her home is a lovely place to spend a morning doing crafts. Thank you so much!"

"I attended Elspeth's course recently, and had a really enjoyable day with her and a small group of other ladies in a beautiful setting. I learned a lot and was greatly inspired by the examples of finished pieces dotted all round us. Elspeth is lovely, and a very good teacher. We also had fun, and all in all it was a great day. I thoroughly recommend it. I have shown my hotelier in Greece how to do this while on holiday, and she is now hooking away like crazy! Marvellous."

"What a great morning I had learning the basics of rag rugging. Elspeth was friendly and helpful and an extremely good teacher. She explained and demonstrated clearly and carefully the different types of rag rugging. I left, after the morning's course, with a cushion cover started and the confidence to carry on at home. "This was an excellent course: very informative and great fun. It was a good mixture of teaching and practical work and Elspeth was very well prepared. We all went home with enough material to finish our projects and a great deal of food for thought. Talking of food...we were also given some lovely nibbles to keep us going - homemade nougat and fudge! I'd thoroughly recommend the day."

Can't leave rag rugging alone now as I have all the equipment and knowledge to finish the cushion cover I started at the course and have the hessian and know how to do a rug. "I had such fun on this course! As someone who struggles with most 'arty' endeavours, I found Elspeth's tutorial friendly, easy to follow and very accessible. All equipment was provided and we came away with all the knowledge necessary to finish our designs and feel confident in starting our own rag rug projects. It was a very sociable, relaxed atmosphere and there were plenty of bright and beautiful examples of Elspeth's completed rag rugs on show, which was inspiring. I would thoroughly recommend this class for anyone who wants to learn a lovely new craft and have lots of fun doing it!"

"I really enjoyed this course. It was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and we learned exactly what we had set out to do. Elspeth described the two methods of rag rugging - shaggy or the flatter one and talked about other ways with the proddy. She provided cushion size hessian and hook to take away or a frame and smaller piece of hessian if you chose to do the little picture and she provided scissors and lots of cut fabrics to use on the evening. We could take any fabric we were using to keep with the design and she suggested ways of keeping the design varied . We started a project which was easy to finish and gave lots of ideas. 2.5 hours is a good length of time to get started. When I told friends they were very5 interested, as it's not a common craft to learn about."
