"Really comprehensive workshop with clear instructions throughout. I received a beginners pack in the post with all the tools and a selection of fabrics included ahead of the booked date, an email with the instructions for how to download the app and join in the workshop and all the help necessary to make the technical side as easy as possible. I had no idea old clothes/fabrics could be so useful or so exciting, totally inspired to get cracking. Thank you Elspeth. ?"

"I really enjoyed this course. Zoom went perfectly and I had received everything I needed to start in the post beforehand. Elspeth was confident, friendly and easy to follow. These are not courses provided just for the lock-down! It's easy to see that Elspeth has been holding in person workshops for a while. I now have the confidence to have a go on my own, and Ragged Life has online tutorials newsletters and advice if we need it. Also they sell the tools and fabrics. Give it a go!"

She had lots if hints and tips to pass on based on her experiences of rag rugging. I found the whole session hugely enjoyable and finished full of enthusiasm wanting to get started on my own project as soon as possible. I felt I gained a lot of useful information which I can put to use in my own projects. Highly recommended."

"It was amazing to be able to learn a new craft from the comfort of my own home; no need to spend money on travel; no need to leave my small children for longer than necessary. All the tools and materials needed arrived before hand by post and we got rag rugging really quickly during the course. It is very satisfying and I am busy planning my first full rug :-). A tip; I joined by mobile phone which was fine but it was sometimes a wee bit hard to see what was going on. A tablet or laptop would have been a tiny bit easier. X"

"What a really great day this was at the York workshop on 11 January. It was led by Lorraine who was friendly, good humoured and knowledgeable in equal measure. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone as being great value for money. You'll leave with the information and tools you need to finish the project you started (either a rug, cushion, flowers, bag or whatever) at home. There is also the opportunity to buy other pieces of kit at really reasonable prices if you feel you've totally got the bug (as I did!). There's no pressure to buy. I'm not one for leaving reviews but felt I should as I was so impressed by it all."

"What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, with a small group of interesting people and in such a beautiful setting. This was a completely new craft for me that I'd never tried before. We had great instruction and good company, washed down with lots of teas and coffees. We were shown precisely how to use the various hooking tools and given thorough guidance in the most efficient way of producing the rag strips for our pieces, then we were well on our way. Elspeth's book is full of inspiration with clear pictures and diagrams, and lovely photos of finished projects. While we worked we were given tips and hints, and our work was inspected which helped us make corrections in the way we worked. I enjoyed my afternoon so much, I look forward to attending another workshop and perhaps tackling a more ambitious project."

"What a great way to spend a morning! Great company and expert tutor providing knowledge and encouragement. I had never picked up a latch tool but at the end of three hours I was confident to go home and continue the cushion I started at the course. Already I have spent two happy evenings in front of the TV working on my cushion and have even roped in my other half to cut up strips of fabric for me. So relaxing for both of us and a craft I look forward to continuing with for many years. Highly recommend Elspeth and her book for guidance."
