"I can’t imagine Peter ever getting less than 5 stars - both he and the course are an absolute treasure!! His direct and gracious teaching style are inspirational and confidence-building and even total novices were soon sharing opinions and ideas. I came away mesmerised with his real understanding of the properties of natural material and how well designed tools can treat it so sympathetically. And, of course, what a great way to meet other people!! The humour, support and cooperation within the group was lovely although there was so much going on you could just keep your head down and get on with it if you wanted. I’m gonna do more!!"

"I absolutely loved this course. You come with an idea of what you would like to create and Peter expertly guides you through the whole process of how to get there. The location is beautiful and the workshop well equipped. Not only did I come away with I bench I'm really proud of thanks to Peter, but this was also the most chilled out week I've had in ages. I can't reccomend Peter and this course highly enough."

"This is much more than a 'learn how to make a chair course'. You do, of-course, make a beautiful chair, but in addition Peter has created a workshop which seems rather other worldly. You can park the day to day niggles of life at the gate and spend a fabulous week being gently guided through the various steps needed to transform a log into a beautiful piece of furniture. Along the way there is opportunity to chat, to learn about greenwood work generally and to improve and learn skills. The whole experience is therapeutic and great fun. Do it!"

"What a week. It has been a privilege to have spent time being so expertly taught by Peter, and in the company of a lovely group of people. The Workshop is a world away from the more usual stresses of life, it is a great working space and has everything you need (…somewhere). I went along to make a chair. "This is a great course for anyone (and I mean anyone!) who has a desire to make their own chair. There is absolutely no experience necessary to complete this course and come home with a unique piece of furniture. Peter has a great depth of knowledge which he is happy to share. He guides you along the process from log to chair in a very relaxed manner, offering advice all the way. I spent a lovely week in great company, with lots of laughter and a desire to make more chairs!! Everyone helped each other out and we all came home very pleased with our work. I cannot recommend this course enough. If you are unsure, my advice would to be just go for it!!"

"Have just returned home after a 6 day chair making course - and my chair is stunning. But so were the chairs of the other people on the course, and no two the same. The sense of camaraderie that Peter fostered on the course made the whole experience deeply satisfying. There were no tears, but much laughter - and to come home with a beautiful piece of hand made, unique, green wood furniture is deeply satisfying. "Can’t thank Peter and David enough for an amazing introduction to Green Woodworking. Never in my wildest dreams did I really believe we would all be returning with 8 much loved and admired pieces of furniture but thanks to Peter’s patience and excellent teaching methods that’s exactly what happened. We all stayed at the lovely Corner Cottage, just a few yards away from the workshop, and had a weekend to remember. "I went on the introduction to greenwood course to make a small side table after my partner had been on several of Peters other courses and I have to say I absolutely loved it! Peter has a very calm way of teaching and really helps you to understand the wood, the tools and the way to form your idea into the material. From choosing your own raw, untreated, natural wood, to shaping and shaving the legs and tops, each stage brought new challenges, which Peter encourages you to find your own way to work around them (like when I cut into a leg too much!) I have no previous experience with woodwork and really enjoyed the hands on experience of creating my very own, totally unique piece of furniture, which I shall cherish for years! Although a fairly fast paced course (certainly don't think that you are in for a relaxing weekend!) no one was left behind and we all made beautiful items. I will most certainly be attending other courses in the future and I highly recommend Peter Lanyon for his beautiful creations."

"I really loved this course - and so did my husband who also attended. By the end of the weekend we had each produced a small table/bench of which we both feel really proud - and amazed also! I had no prior experience of woodworking but Peter has all the tools and shows you how to use them with patience and expertise. My favourite part was sitting outside fashioning legs for my table using the draw horse and draw knife. You can choose what sort of legs you want and what sort of top and Peter will offer advice so you end up with what you want. Everyone on the course produced their own unique piece - and they all looked great! I am pretty sure we will be back for another course."
