"A wonderful and informative course! Rowena is an excellent, experienced and friendly teacher, and the setting in Lewes is lovely. I'd never done any pottery before but I managed to make bowls, mugs and even a gargoyle on my first day! Great value for money. Highly recommended."

"I booked a two hour session for me and my partner for her birthday as she had always been keen to try pottery on a wheel. Rowena was really friendly and very knowledgeable and very accomodating especially as I forgot to tell her my partner was 24 weeks pregnant - oops! My partner made a far better pot on the wheel in one try (it took me two attempts to make a good one) and then as it was very strenuous for her she rolled out a lovely oven dish while I took photos of her crafting. we had a lovely time, and six weeks later (exactly as Rowena had said) I collected the finished articles which we were really impressed with! Full marks to Rowena for a brilliant experience."

"I spent 3 days with Rowena, learning to throw a pot for the first time, learning how to mould wares, mould and fix handles and experimenting with new kinds of decoration, especially working with slip. Rowena was an excellent teacher, gradually building my confidence, and tailoring the pace and content very well to my interests and skills. Great to be in Lewes too as the town itself and the surrounding scenery are pleasant to explore and an inspiration for decoration. Thank you!"

"My friend and I attended a two day weekend course. We loved the fact that we were on the wheel and throwing pots within ten minutes of starting the course. Rowena provided helpful advice but was keen for us to have a go on our own which was great. Her patience and lovely sense of humour were greatly appreciated! The two day course was full and varied but adaptable if you had a particular interest. Rowena's enthusiasm and happy personality made for an interesting and relaxed course. Thank you!"

"I attended a two hour weekly tutorial with Rowena for over a year. I chose her because of the location, but also because her own pottery is beautiful and I loved her work. Rowena is very practical and explains everything clearly. She is a patient, accommodating and inspiring teacher and she was very easy to get along with. All her teaching was appropriate to my level of experience and she helped me achieve what I wanted to, which was the confidence and ability to work by myself."

"We had a fantastic weekend. Rowena is a patient and encouraging teacher who clearly enjoys her work and sharing it with others. Taught 3 complete beginners to throw, coil and decorate which was great fun and a perfect way to unwind after a busy week. We left with a real sense of achievement.5"
