Pip Hughes reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Thanks Jo and Andy I loved the 2 day workshop. We had so much fun and I came home with my abstract horse which I am very pleased with. This is the third workshop I have been on and have had such a great time at every one. You get just as much help as you want or need so I have more booked. The atmosphere is so good and refreshing. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Pip - looking forward to seeing you again this year! Your horse was wonderful, with a slightly tilted head which added so much personality. I would have been very happy to give him space in my garden (but I doubt you would part with him!). Enjoy the changing colours you see on the copper patinated finish after rain and sun πŸ€—πŸ˜˜ Jo xx"

"Fabulous two days with Jo making Maud a sitting hare, days filled with inspiration and laughter. Anyone thinking they cannot make a sculpture or slate art, think again, with Jo you can and thoroughly enjoy the experience. Looking forward to making a friend for Maud ! "

"Thank you so much Steph! I expect Maud will also be a little fed up with all the rain we are having (if you were brave enough to pop her outside!). Once she has a buddy, they can enjoy the British weather together πŸ˜„πŸ€—. Jo xx"

"We did the Hare sculpture workshop yesterday and had a great day. Jo was really good at explaining each step, on hand if help was needed but let you do your own thing as well. Very hospitable, we were looked after very well all day long. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere, we all interacted with each other and all made a variety of different hares. Would absolutely recommend doing this with friends or family as a treat . "

Sue M reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I went on the one day Hare Sculpture workshop towards the end of March '24. It was really well organised and Jo was brilliant at helping and guiding everyone throughout the day. I was really pleased with my Hare, the sculpting technique is really simple but also very flexible and everyone's Hare came out as a unique piece. The location is lovely, the workroom is really bright and there is plenty of space. Jo has lots of example pieces so you can see how your Hare will look if you adjust the 'posture'. It is a very busy day with lots of stages to work through, but it's not too intense so it's still fun. I hope to go back again and make more sculptures or buy some kits and try to replicate at home."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sue! I love how each hare ends up so individual despite the same starting point, materials and instructions. Just goes to show how each of us interprets processes differently! I look forward to seeing you again, Jo xxx"

"My daughter and I had a wonderful day together making hare sculptures. We both felt that Jo was a marvellous tutor and nothing was too much trouble for her in explanations and hands on help where required. She was so generous in every way and nothing was missing. Her attention to detail in what was required was amazing even down to the little pots of paint to go home with. A really memorable day and the sun shone on the lovely grounds too. !! "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Lois 😊 I enjoy the little details! It takes me several days to pull together everything for the workshops and filling the goodie bags is my last task πŸ€—. so glad you both enjoyed the day. Jo xx"

Jackie reviewed: Slate mosaic workshop at Jo Garden Art

"Jo is amazing, what a couple of days! Jo had everything prepared, her calm and patient manner, explaining before we started and then with us every step to reassure, advise and help. The tea and Kit Kats to keep us going were very welcome πŸ€—. To finally get to our finished pieces, unique and special to us all, we all felt such an achievement. On the second day, I was making a large piece of slate art and a big bit fell off. Jo said we’d need a miracle….well, she made a miracle happen! Thank you. I drove home both excited and exhausted, everything held together, phew! Now taking pride of place in my kitchen and hall, I’d highly recommend spending a day here πŸ‘"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Wow Jackie! So glad to hear your large piece made it home intact! I hope all the additional highlight materials went on OK - it really was a work of art! Well done πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Jo xx"

"This workshop was utterly amazing and I enjoyed every single second. Jo is a wonderful tutor, everything was organised and explained, with ample space to work. Sandra Fernando reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Finished the two day course today and I am blown away by the sculpture I have created thanks to Jo. The setting is beautiful and idyllic. Jo and Andy were incredible hosts, really welcoming, supportive and good fun. The care and attention to detail is evident in every aspect of how the course is built and the supplied materials were carefully selected and of a very high standard. Jo is passionate in ensuring you learn to create something that is truly beautiful and reflective of your own voice. Her ability to spot a tiny tweak that would transform the piece was truly remarkable and handled very sensitively - recognising when you were not completely happy with what you have done. My fellow students were lovely and the relaxed atmosphere meant we had a shared bond throughout the workshop and many laughs. I thoroughly recommend this course and hope you find Jo as inspirational as I have! "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"What a wonderful review Sandra, thank you so much. Your wonderful cat will be much admired! And those long, long copper whiskers were fabulous πŸ˜ƒ. Well done. Jo xx"

Jo was brilliant at teaching us at a pace and level that never felt daunting. Great size class and classroom. I never in a million years would have thought that I could make something so beautiful! Thanks to Jo and her lovely husband for a wonderful day. ( And to Hilary for her gift) I would very much recommend it."

Lisa Miller reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Thank you Jo for a brilliant day. I gave my sister the hare sculpting day as a Christmas present and of course I had to come too! I had seen the leaping hare in a window of a coffee shop / cafe in Norfolk and when I enquired about it I couldn’t believe it had been made by the owner at one of Jo’s workshops. Even more unbelievably I can’t believe my hare looked like a hare once finished. Jo was very informative and helpful and guided us where necessary to make tweaks if needed. Thank you Jo ( and Andy) you made us very welcome in your beautiful home and studio. Lisa "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Lisa ;-) I was so moved by your story of seeing the hare sculpture in a cafe and researching it back to my workshop! Your own leaping hare was gorgeous and you should be very proud. Jo xx"

Wenda reviewed: Sculpture workshop two days with Jo Garden Art in beautiful rural Norfolk/Suffolk border setting

"Second course for me and with Jo's unending enthusiasm, advice and encouragement. I made the most beautiful cat sculpture, who will be gracing the garden from Spring. It takes a lot to ensure that everyone on these courses is given the attention and help they need but Jo and Andy are without doubt the dynamic duo and we all left with completed works of art, every question answered and armed with contacts to continue making things. I can't put into words the fun we all had even though we were all focussing on our work. Just counting the months until I can come again!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you so much Wenda for this lovely review. Andy's armature making welding skills are invaluable for these two day workshops. It's lovely having a small class to be able to focus on each individual sculpture - and I must admit to needing a deep bath and (very) large glass of wine to celebrate at the end of the second day! I'll see you again I'm sure! Jo xx"
