Description

Come and learn the art of Indian block printing. In this half day workshop, you will learn to hand block print designs on stationery and fabric. After a short introduction to the workshop, you will choose your wooden blocks and colours to complete your designs. You will then be given a demonstration on how to apply paint and print with the blocks on paper and fabric. After experimenting with your wooden blocks on practice paper and fabric, you will spend the rest of the workshop creating your own beautiful block printed designs on stationery and a tote bag or tea towel. With small numbers, and plenty of guidance from the tutor, this workshop aims to provide a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to the art of Indian block printing.

Originally starting out on my creative journey making rustic style wirework jewellery, I further developed my art skills to include folk art painting, dot mandala work, block printing, and folk art style felt designs. I have taught adults for many years within the NHS and university settings, earning a post graduate teaching qualification for adults along the way. I now enjoy teaching in a more relaxed atmosphere specialising in courses and workshops for adults. I run my workshops in Cumnor, Oxfordshire. I am also the creator and organiser of Crafty Boaters Handmade Markets in Lechlade-on-Thames
