We jelled immediately, and I could see she was passionate about her teaching and her work. We cruised through a lot of work, and she was full of suggestions and helpful tips. She opened a whole new world for me. We had fun and I was so sad leaving her studio and yet so excited to have met her and ever so thankful for her passionate teaching. "I had such a wonderful day yesterday with Lyn learning all about using encaustic. Lyn was superb at answering questions quickly prior to our meet up and I felt as if I already knew her before arriving. Lyn was very welcoming and was ready to get going. It was really helpful that Lyn had prepared some notes for me to take away. This enabled me to start learning straight away. Lyn explained things really well and I was soon into my creative bubble. I enjoyed the fact that the session was 1 to 1 as it enabled me to ask any questions easily. The pace was perfect and Lyn was able to easily assist when I was going a bit awry. I felt so pleased with myself when, at the end of the day, I came away with my 3 bits of art. I really felt as if I had spent a really fun day with a friend. "I enjoyed this course very much. Lyn was very friendly and knowledgeable, guiding me through the process with ease. My picture came to life within a matter of hours and using a plethora of techniques I didn't expect to use. I did worry that I would end up with something that looked like a sampling board rather than a real picture, but the finished result was actually pretty good, and I'm proud of it. I had some idea regarding what I wanted to do, and Lyn didn't try to stop me. We went beyond just using wax to make the image, as we enhanced it with alcohol ink, stencil work, mica powders, foils and pan pastels. Had I tried to do it alone, or used Youtube to guide me, it would have looked terrible. This was definitely the best way to get involved with encaustic wax. So, Lyn, thank you."

"I had a fantastic time on a two-day workshop as Lyn taught me how to make art using encaustic wax, as well as photo encaustic. She was very warm, highly empathetic, and welcoming, understood very quickly what style and approach I was hoping to achieve, and I've rarely seen an artist so adept at quickly changing style to suit the needs of another. We went from complete abstraction to fully representational and her suggestions, gently proffered, made me realise how much in tune with other people's work she is. She starts off by discovering your intentions, if any. Mine were specific and I wasn't sure she'd be willing to work on them, but I couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable, resourceful, and creative mentor! She has a wide range of wax/non-wax artistic materials to hand, which was a great help. I enjoyed every moment of the workshop and her company, and she's even introduced me to new techniques outside encaustic (working with hessian) as well as resources in the community that I didn't know existed. I couldn't recommend her more highly and hope to return."

"I recently attended a photo-encaustic wax workshop with Lyn and I would go again in a heart beat. She is patient and very helpful, explaining her rationale throughout. She is also down to earth with a great sense of humour, plus she makes great cake. Before the class you are encouraged to send potential pics along with some info about them, and think about suitable bits and pieces that you may want to use. I strongly advise you to engage fully in this dialogue as the ideas begin to form. Although she has a great range of ephemera to use, it helps if you bring some too. This workshop is highly recommended. Thank you Lyn."
